Kirk, 28 Oct 2017Isn't Android part of Google, And what's this about Google not welcomed in China, did I miss s... moreAndorid is made by Google as an open source platform, that is why any company around the world can take it for free and change it as they like, that is why there is some fork Android versions from Google like in china or the one Amazon did.
Also this is probably why companies like Samsung, HTC,...etc add their skin on their Android phones.
Unlike Android, the Google apps (especially Youtube, Google Maps and Google Play) can't be addedby manufactures into phones unless Google certify that and AFAIK Google put some criteria such as Chrome Browser app should be there in defaults and the manufacture can't sell any Android phone without Google apps. (in the countries where Google can sue these manufactures of course so not in china)

And why you need one? Samsung has small one like many most top manufacturers, but if Huawei thinks it can make huge one to compete with Play Store, it will be imminent waste of resources, people no need twenty app stores, they know they have play store and will find anything they need

Interesting thing from Huawei. I think this is going to be good if games can be optimized for Kirin processors. As a P10 Plus user I do think that games and a lot of apps in the Play Store are not optimized for Mali GPUs. Even games like Subways Surfers and Angr Birds 2 can lag sometimes.
