How have you recorded these videos in stereo sound mode? I see only mono audio on all my records with i9000.
Yes. My Nikon s9100 with 18X optical zoom can fit easily into my pocket.
Mobile phones are not killing compact cameras because new cameras offer new features that phones do not have:
Long zooms in a slim compact shape.
Optical image stabalizers.
Fast response times.
A few years ago compact cameras were in trouble, when phones developed better screens. Now cameras are catching up.
Having a powerful flash on a phone will soon drain your battery. with a camera you only switch it on when you want to use it. A phone needs to be on all the time.
The phones that are dead are the single focal length cheapos.
Nice , I really love all the updates to the site in the last year or so, GsmArena keeps getting better and better. Good Job Guys, and keep up the good work.. and the updates :D !
Not a good comparison, you should have picked a dslr with the same megapixels as the phones.
AnonD-1124, 20 Jun 2011Can you put your nikon s910 in your pocket?Yes I can put my nikon 18X zoom in my pocket. Do your homework. And I can still carry my android phone.
"Mobile phones are really taking some of the digicam's bread and butter. The only ones that still stand their grounds are the professional DSLRs, or are they? Now you can verify that for yourselves. And yes, you will be surprised. Knock yourselves out!"
If people buy DSLR to use as a point-shoot camera, maybe mobile phones can get 25% close to them.
see the chicks face in the second pic. n8 kinda blurry canon looks gr8, and arc make it look ugly! my n8 is king!
I want to thank all of you guys. I read a lot of tech-news in different sites. In the smartphone field, only you, gsmarena, provide this kind of informations. I've seen photo compare tools like yours only at dpreview.com where dsrl cameras are reviewed!
I like your way of providing infos: you avoid copying and pasting bunch of news like someone else while you'd rather create news with your scientific and interesting work. Please continue in this way.
Ps: i'd love a better and deeper interpretation and explanation of numbers in smartphone's audio tests,i.e. how to benefit from these data (for instance how much "1dB less of noise level" would effect the audio in my ears? or am I able to notice the difference between "+0.05, -0.34" and "+0.04, -0.09" in frequency response? or what happens with headphones attached?...and so on...). I stress the fact that I'm an engineer so I kwow what 1dB means but I don't know the final effects in my ears. You have to write more about audio data interpretation even though, like a scientist, you prefer let the numbers speak instead of you...Thank you for reading me and my bad italian english. ;)
In the color poster point to the B&W boat picture the nokia n8 and dslr you can clearly read restaurant but the sony ericsson arc just lol!!n8 is still king of camera phone!!
excellent idea. thanks a lot. this is what I have been waiting for since a long time ago. great job. well done gsmarena.
Phones are still missing proper optical zooms.
My nikon s9100 has an 18X optical zoom.
No phone can compete.
so actualy, is better to a N8 for photos rather than a 5D mark ii. i will have in mind...
