For anyone saying this is an issue with lag, it's not. For lag, the phone will catch up after a while, and is due to poor software/slow hardware. A complete phone freeze on the other hand is most likely due to a deadlock at the OS level, and it doesn't matter how fast the processor is or how optimized the OS is, will not end until you restart/end all processes.

I've got the device (exynos) for 2 weeks now and i don't have this problem. Anyway it doesn't look like an issue that can't be solved by a simple update. I see all the haters are jumping around talkin shit about samsung and calling people fanboys. guess what I spend my money on whatever i want, whenever i want simply because i can.

I was never a smungsung fan but I have got a budget core prime model that costed me £110 and guess what...its going strong for the past 2.5 years and getsthe job done.
Conclusion:
Go for a midrange device :)
