I could only work because the sensor has 1GB ram inside to storage all this data for a moment.
0.5s of 960@HD is much more data than minutes of 4K.
At least XZP does not have 4K limited in 8 min like other flagships. You can record 2h if you want, then watch it on the phone.
Edge screen is gimmick. Phones get more fragile and edge have annoying reflex.

I have xperia xzs and its looks much more premium in hand... Wow awesome performance and camera is outstanding... I love Sony brand.. And always trusted brand...

It'll cost them a lot to do the FCC tests and Sony has to offset these costs with a potential sale at a higher retail price. In this case they decided against doing the test and hence they have to disable this item for US-import. You can't blame them. Perhaps if in the US more people would show Sony their confidence that they are willing to pay a higher retail price provided the fingerprint-scanner is active then they would/could initiate these FCC-tests.
Or if the US would simply accept the EU regulations too instead of charging manufacturers again for a similar test (which they already done at the EU or other areas) then this wouldn't be such an issue. I think you shouldn't blame Sony but rather the FCC for asking too much for compliance.

Sony has glass phones.
Iris scanner of S8 was proved to be fooled by photos.
Desktop android is useless, better use a windows tablet or computer.
Front speaker is better than beside usb, mainly if you play on your phone, you do not cover it.
The wireless changing, not that wireless is slower than via usb. Temperature is higher, you can not use phone for some activities while charging.
Second cam for fake bokeh is waste of time, background does not get 100+ defocused.

If sony follows the market trend, probably they will have positive net income for mobile division because of two reasons:
1.) Sony is consistently making the fastest phone in the market using the latest SOC.
2.) Fastest update. It is the first OEM to release Oreo update for XZ Premium (except Google of course)

That is not uprising at all, they have largest bezels by quite a margin and looks the worst dated phone from any major manufacturer in the market... And that is pretty much defines their offer. Doesn't matter that they have mediocre spec there which is maybe 3rd runner in the race or that their quality is in top 5 places. Have phone looking like that and your sales will decline... kind of obvious.

Anyone know if there's an end in sight to whatever blocks sonys fingerprint scanners in the US? Even if the US wouldn't get many more sales, US based reviewers carry a lot of weight. Major reviewers saying no scanner will have a worldwide effect.

If they are going to follow the trend of the market, probably they will be able to get positive net income for mobile division because of two reasons:

2.) Fast update, Sony is the 1st OEM to release Oreo update for XZ Premium except Google Nexuses and pixel phones.

Lazy Company with lazy designs.
I'm not saying they should be Bezelless but almost everyone of their phones look the same. Where is the excitement? Where is the sense that you're getting something new?
The durability of their phones have also come into question, the XA1 seems to be plagues with issues. I almost bought one myself.

The fact is that sony Mobile is not an original sony company. Other divisions don't want to give a hand to it at all. They just want it to die immediately so they can sell better sensors or expand to Mobile division.

Sony mobile must be dismissed immediately and then re-setup the team in China or even India. Anywhere but Japan. There is neither qualified engineer nor customers who know the modern trend(Japanese are too old to ride the IT wave).

Sony Fanboy Bitches, 01 Nov 2017I've said it many times already, and I'm gonna repeat it again. "Sony could easily make the b... moreLOL. Everytime I read that comment, I would cringe. It doesn't matter how much you repeat yourself. This is just wishful thinking, fanboy :p
As a Sony fans and other phones fans (Nokia, Apple and Huawei), although for this quarter they had reported a lost, at least they've a good run doing their smartphone market division for more than 20 years since their first phone and almost 10 years after first Xperia lineup released worldwide. I hope next year, coincidentally with Xperia 10th anniversary, they'll change everything, from design from normal bezel to bezel-less (at least less bezels at 80s %), camera algorithm and hardware stabilization , noteworthy features and other things as Mirai design has been spreaded since August. Sony may late in something, but their underhood is the one you can't underestimated once-in-a-lifetime, even it's not the important one. Once they changed, it could make a headline (e.g Z5 Premium 4K screen, Z1 Compact small phone big specs, XZ Premium 960fps@720p, etc.). Acoustic Surface from Bravia to Xperia, fingers crossed for Mirai.
