The Nokia N900 also didn't have any hardware buttons on its front panel. So the N9 is not the first. I'm not even sure if the N900 is the first.
It's funny how nowadays everyone wants to have 'a first'.
Apple also claimed a lot of 'firsts' even though other phones already did the same or better. And most people bought it nonetheless...

This has been verified that before Nokia even went to Microsoft; they went to Google first. Nokia thought they were in a position to demand something of Google; however Google told Nokia to pound sand. Don't believe me? use bing or any search of your choice and look it up.
Also Nokia's Meego will be nothing more than a developer's device. Nokia has no plans to use MeeGo fully in its roadmap; this has been verified by Nokia. Nokia's main source of smartphone will be and shall be WP7.

are you a magician? or fortune teller? ho can you compare this new kid to android gingerbread, even there is a meego n900, you can't still compare it.
go to your android not here, this comments section is for people who's willing to accept competion to each manufacturer's. or maybe be the next nokia's ceo so you could make this company the best haha.

This should be so 2008- 2009 , now is just 2 late.... the hardware are ok, this is premium on the market, but the OS...is like another OS?!?.....why should i buy this or on the other hand i have Iphone5....4 sure it will have the same price...

my opinion is that.nokia will be again no 1.using one linux based OS-> N series, for those who consider android is the best., W series with windows phone.and X, C, E series using Symbian Anna with its future updates and others devices using some OS which would look like symbian but not bring it's features.
so my guess is that, Nokia phones are exceptional and trying to customize them with different OS, that brings something different, OS that are seriously developed by specified teams, can't be nothing but an advantage for them.
So go Nokia and release an Windows Phone device and then I can decide which one i buy. MeeGo or Windows Phone.
And people that claim Android is the best.Take a look at the number of devices using Andoid and the one using iOS(i've taken iOS because it is the second OS when it comes for apps). How many manufactures use Android and how many using iOS. And in my opinion Iphone is better than any android devices.(just my opinion)
But this is about Nokia. So go on great devices.
