It has 256 MB RAM and has the best multitasking I have ever seen on a smartphone.
So don't comment on stuff you don't know. Makes you sound like an ignorant...

There are no buttons on the front, so everything is done by swiping. Can you send an app to background by swiping in, for example, android?

Heard Nokia abandoned MeeGo and adopted WM.
Can some one advise what is going on with Nokia.
Why they issue N9 with alrdy dead OS.
The phone itself is pretty attractive but we need assurance there will be enough support and applications at least 2,3 years before we change a new phone.

AnonD-7191, 22 Jun 2011Hello wake up. This swipe is what Nokia copy from Android call " swype".Do your home... moreLOL. How about you do your homework?! "Swype" belongs to "Swype Inc.". Google just licensed it for android.
Besides, "swype" and nokia's swipe are totally different things. One is an input method for touch keyboards, the other one is a UX.

                            swipe and swype is difference,

                            swype is only for text,

nokia swipe technology all action you do In n9 you can used swipe technology, watch the videos demo hands on n9. You can see what kind of swipe I can say.... N9 is the first mobile smartphone can used swipe all action you do in touchscreen.. the swype of android only text typing.

After 10 years of being a Nokia fan, I jumped to the Android Ship via Galaxy S. I really sometimes miss those Nokia days. Although Android is much more powerful and Introduced fancy Apps, Nokia engineering, battery life and Symbian stability was better. I have to charge my Galaxy S everyday and restart it once a week, versus once a week charge in Nokia and one restart every three weeks. Will wait n see how Meego performs.

its a new os. its has to be price reasonable
or slightly below to capture back market.
nokia past models has been let down n xpensive.
too much ego wont carry nokia very far.

                                        (+)
                                        - display resolution !!! (but actually matches N900's so no update here)
                                        - Meego - the most flexible smartphone OS i know about
                                        - 1450 mAh battery - sounds promising to last more than 1 day of use.
                                        - 64 GB internal Flash memory... that's HUGE - can store thousands of 8Mpx photos and also lots of music for fans ;-)
                                        - Carl Zeiss optics - I can hardly make the difference but sounds very hi-fi

                                        (-)
                                        - price - though not announced i believe it will be unpleasant surprise
                                        - 1GB ram - from what i know about Linux - it is memory hungry. I doubt 1GB will be enough for heavy multitasking.
                                        - FM Radio?? :"-(

                                        (~)
                                        - polycarbonate body - i think it is not metal to save some weight but is tht material robust enough we are about to see.
                                        - LTE support?
