Anonymous, 03 Nov 2017The only outcome (when google skipped this brilliant quality): too many issues just because LgI say to Google n HTC...pls undo whatever restriction they have on the availability of the U11+ to many markets. This one phone can do HTC a lotta good sales wise during this holiday sales season. Finally HTC has a phone that many will like to buy right now. Please HTC.. unleash the U11+ to all who want it.

TheProperGentleman, 03 Nov 2017I don't think that OLED is better than LCD tbh. Right now I’m using G6 with IPS and I can see the different white is white no reddish tint or burn in, yeah LG IPS a bit oversaturate, but it can be fix from hidden setting (natural mode). know that Apple iPhone X comes with OLED panel that made by Samsung aka Super Amoled, but still prefer iPhone 8 Plus with IPS LCD over iPhone X after I saw Erica griffin made screen comparison between iPhone 8 Plus and Note 8 she mentioned that IPhone has better screen overall, so hope Google shifiting to Htc Pixel 2 xl with LCD 6 IPS. Soon.

Nor is it the only and deciding factor to superior tech.
Oled is far overall superior to LCD by a large margin.

As if there are burn in issues on the lg v30, there are none, google cannot handle OLED displays, just leave it yo lg and samsung, they are the experts on bezel less oled displays.

OLED is a great technology, but even though Samsung nails it, the color accuracy is average to me. I have an S8+ and a Huawei P10+. The black of course goes to the S8 hands down, but every other goes for the P10+. Reds are orange in the S8+. And even after changing the color profile, it still not accurate to me.

HTC then go ahead and release the canceled device as well the U11 Plus, but then an agreement of sort with Google prevent them from selling it in the US.

                              Just a theory though.

ZloiYuri, 03 Nov 2017That was good move, but too late. Why they chose worst oem to produce high end flagship? https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=8733&idPhone2=8720&idPhone3=8908

First Imo building a phone is to the specifications that Google require, so LG or HTC suggested, the final vote is Googles

What you have to realise is neither LG, nor HTC could release a flagship without memory expansion, which Google can it seems do due to offering cloud storage.

Again both LG & HTC receive income for the build, but also they take a hit in sales for the success of the Pixel

Looking at the specs the HTC is only a GSM device not CDMA, no Verizon, no Sprint

Finally pricing, Apple on iOS can get away with non expansion, the HTC U11 is priced similar to the Pixel 2, the cost is NIL if you already have a memory card, than buying the higher memory higher ram it cost.

The loss of 3.5 mm jack is just to sell these overpriced earphones

To me it is clear why Google went with LG - this way they could get a discounted price fro the HTC engineers due to the loss of orders from Google which HTC did not expect.

Looks like HTC is punishing Google by putting larger battery in muskie. (Pixel xl has just around 3600mah). I still don't get why Google went with of instead of HTC Let's hope Google leaves crappy LG and get back will get back to HTC next year.
