Hot? No
Same performance as OnePlus 5
120hz? I want see 100-120fps in game! If not, then why u need 120hz screen? Just better looks in paper?
Its Phone for those who love Razer s*it.
I voted Hot, but I am not going to buy it just because of its massive size. If it was a 5-5.2 incher, then I could give it a try, as it's close to Xperia design philosophy.
I owned (and still own) both an N-Gage and an Xperia Play. Not gonna get this though, no joypad.
IMSK, 05 Nov 2017A gaming phone with no headphone jack? I get the speakers and hence the bezels (I don't like t... moreStill better than the other all glass/curved/bezelles garbages out there.
If it had
-removable battery
-3.5mm jack
-FM Radio
-IR blaster
then I would buy this phone.
I believe that it`s quite refreshing to see new player on the market, especially in a flagship category.Spec-wise,I think this is very interesting device, its looks reminds me of my old Xiaomi Mi3,and Sony fans will be familiar with the design too.I`m not into gaming at all,at least not on a smartphone, but this might be a good choice for gamers.
But for the price,750Euro in Europe,I think there are several better phones, kinda doubt Razer could compete with big guns..I`m not a Sammy boy,but S8 is under 500Euro these days...not to mention 1+5,Mi6,U11,XZp,N8,...
Nice phone, but should cost $550-$600 at most... else it's better to look at the OnePlus 5 or 5T.
The lack of the 3.5mm jack is the only downside so far. Design looks good since bezels aren't an issue for me, especially with stereo speakers. Nice screen, battery and specs list for a bit cheaper than most flagships. Waiting on more reviews on camera, game performance and such but definitely a hot in my eyes right now.
If it had oxygen OS, then this razer phone wouldn't be a joke.
I voted for hot. Yes, it lacks the headphone jack. Yes، it has bezels. Yes, it lacks a headphone jack. But these two reasons dont bother me at all.
For one, while it lacks a jack, let's be real, it's going to go away eventually. Maybe not this year, but in 2020 or 2019, the headphone jack is going to be dead on smartphones. People can be angry about it all they want, but it will go away. If Apple did it, the rest will too. We are seeing that already and in 2018 or 2019 Samsung will remove it and I'm confident that they will. Plus, they do provide a good quality dongle with this phone, and if you want versatility, you can buy the one that Google provides because it will work with all USB-C phones including ones with a jack. I know it sucks, and I did hate it until recently, but crying about it is not going to be good for anyone. Just try to adapt to this situation because now we're in a transition period and by next year USB-C will dominate everything.
Second, while it has bezels, but at least Razor did make a use to them and gave us one of the best speakers in a 2017 smartphone. I know that it doesn't look like a 2017 smartphone, but the bezels are basically speakers. I admit that I'm a succor for this "Sony look" though. I think that it gives the device a classic, but beautiful look which does make me in love with it. In the end, looks are subjective. Some people will love this phone, some people won't.
Now after these two things are gone, let the focus go to the good things. A 1440p with 120Hz refresh rate panel. It's great to see this in a smartphone. I do have a friend with an iPad Pro and I used it that thing is smooth as fuck. I freaking loved using it and it does have a huge impact in the user experience.
What exactly makes this a gaming phone? It has 120hz screen, apart from that what does it do that sets itself apart from other flagships.
Anonymous, 05 Nov 2017Yea it's ridiculous how the most powerful phones have the least bezels...Well why would people... moreHow you know that ? You think that cause you don't like thin bezel ? First own one and then say what is and whats not. More bezel means more of your thumbs over the device surface to block the screen. I have 3 side bezel thin and it's better to play some games on it then bezel a lot over everywhere. The more bezel the bigger the devise so it's heavier to and well quality is not how heavy your phone is the more heavy the worst brick you have in your pocket or ok you need a purse to carry it around
It's Razer :|.
Otherwise, yes it is a very hot device.
Problem is the durability of said device... considering how good Razer's quality control is i'm sure it won't outlast most phones.
Will wait for JerryRigEverything, but even so their software implementations on PC are awful and so are their support.
No headphone jack is a deal breaker..
Beside the 120Hz screen and THX certified speaker. Nothing special on this phone.
120Hz? - I don't see tearing or motion blur in mobile games, is 120Hz needed? I not sure.
THX certified speaker? - lol, I though THX dead already and no longer active.
I have seen phones without personality, but this one wins them all. Ugly appearance The only thing this phone can have hot is the back when playing something or charging the battery. It seems cut from an anvil.
It's either this or mate 10 for the best phone of 2017
Razer has better performance but mate 10 has more features like AI camera, Headphone jack, infrared , newer android etc .
I'd say mate 10 is overall better cause performance gets boring fast ! Like in a few months there's gonna be a new king SoC and nobody is gonna talk about how fast this phone is anymore .
Features on the other hand last for years . My old note 4 still does more things that 90 percent of phones today for example and performance is not an issue in day to day .
Aspros, 05 Nov 2017Superb overall, but they should have done their homework. Such bezels in 2018 are unacceptable!!It's a gaming phone....bezels are almost a must.
