AnonD-642976, 19 Nov 2017on a 400 - 500 USD/Euro budget i would go with the xiaomi mi6 or the oneplus 5(T) - ok the one... moreThanks for your input I'll consider the Mi6 even if I hate MIUI, but I'll also wait and see if the Essential drops under $400 before the year is over lol

AnonD-702955, 15 Nov 2017What would you recommend? on a 400 - 500 USD/Euro budget i would go with the xiaomi mi6 or the oneplus 5(T) - ok the oneplus is a bit more then 400 bugs.

as an alternative you could try to get a good deal on ebay for the samsung galaxy S8 or the Sony XZ1 Compact.

for me xiaomi is the upcoing android champion for a smaller budget (400 USD/Euros is still salty)

AnonD-702955, 13 Nov 2017It's next Monday did they drop the price yet lol you got me there bro :-)

when I read the first time about the phone I was thinking that this was a high risk operation. not just for the company but also for potential clients. today I would not bet 400 USD on a brand that might not exist anymore by - lets say - march 2018. no updates, no warrenty, no spare parts = no fun, no future.

I was a fan of the project but we got to a point where I am saying that almost every major brand is a better coice than essential is. and for 400 USD you can buy pretty good 835 snapdragon phones these days. you should go with one of these.

AnonD-702955, 07 Nov 2017Where do you live the Amazon rainforest? Anywhere in the tropics climate nation only have 2 season, dry and rain.
Island nation like England and Japan also have their fair share of rain.

Besides, I can't believe you/others are already falling for this "TARGET" hype. This phone won't do shit more than others... I repeat, won't play SHIT(games) more than others.

When a lady colleague of mine wanted to change from using a buttoned cell phone to a smartphone, she don't play games, just for calls and smses, whatsapp and abit of browsing. Then I recommended her a Snapdragon 400 series smartphone LG stylus 2 and she is happy with it after almost 1 yr+. Seriously I don't understand why we need such overpriced high end phone, for mobile gaming?

Sales must be horrendous....and for good reason...no 3.5mm, stupid notch, overpriced at launch, buggy, ect. I think this phone will level off at 350 so the company has the sales volume to stay afloat long enough to release v2 for $500 next year.
