AnonD-642976, 19 Nov 2017on a 400 - 500 USD/Euro budget i would go with the xiaomi mi6 or the oneplus 5(T) - ok the one... moreThanks for your input I'll consider the Mi6 even if I hate MIUI, but I'll also wait and see if the Essential drops under $400 before the year is over lol
AnonD-702955, 15 Nov 2017What would you recommend? on a 400 - 500 USD/Euro budget i would go with the xiaomi mi6 or the oneplus 5(T) - ok the oneplus is a bit more then 400 bugs.
as an alternative you could try to get a good deal on ebay for the samsung galaxy S8 or the Sony XZ1 Compact.
for me xiaomi is the upcoing android champion for a smaller budget (400 USD/Euros is still salty)
AnonD-702955, 13 Nov 2017It's next Monday did they drop the price yet lol you got me there bro :-)
when I read the first time about the phone I was thinking that this was a high risk operation. not just for the company but also for potential clients. today I would not bet 400 USD on a brand that might not exist anymore by - lets say - march 2018. no updates, no warrenty, no spare parts = no fun, no future.
I was a fan of the project but we got to a point where I am saying that almost every major brand is a better coice than essential is. and for 400 USD you can buy pretty good 835 snapdragon phones these days. you should go with one of these.
AnonD-642976, 07 Nov 2017next monday XDIt's next Monday did they drop the price yet lol
AnonD-702955, 07 Nov 2017Where do you live the Amazon rainforest? Anywhere in the tropics climate nation only have 2 season, dry and rain.
Island nation like England and Japan also have their fair share of rain.
AnonD-393912, 06 Nov 2017Problem being they released a year too late. Bezelless phone can be a big thing a year ago bu... moreYeah great points there but you totally missed all the fuse around sony's bezels(which a couple others have BTW). Besides, I can't believe you/others are already falling for this "TARGET" hype. This phone won't do shit more than others... I repeat, won't play SHIT(games) more than others.
AnonD-702955, 07 Nov 2017I'll wait till it's well under $400 lol next monday XD
SpiritWolf, 06 Nov 2017And why exactly should people pay more for something they must throw away after 2 years of use... moreThat's the point there are no flagship smartphones with a removable battery anymore, guess you're stuck with your old phones and low-end smartphones/feature phones lol
I'll wait till it's well under $400 lol
When a lady colleague of mine wanted to change from using a buttoned cell phone to a smartphone, she don't play games, just for calls and smses, whatsapp and abit of browsing. Then I recommended her a Snapdragon 400 series smartphone LG stylus 2 and she is happy with it after almost 1 yr+. Seriously I don't understand why we need such overpriced high end phone, for mobile gaming?
Come on people, just but their old stocks already.
Sales must be horrendous....and for good reason...no 3.5mm, stupid notch, overpriced at launch, buggy, ect. I think this phone will level off at 350 so the company has the sales volume to stay afloat long enough to release v2 for $500 next year.
AnonD-713698, 06 Nov 2017Oh god one of these dudes... Let me guess, you believe 9/11 was caused by the government?Actually, it was.
AnonD-102477, 06 Nov 2017What?? 200 bucks for a snapdragon 835 titanium phone?
Are you kidding me??
I know this is no... moreAnd why exactly should people pay more for something they must throw away after 2 years of use because they have no option to prolong its lifetime? 2017 or not but i will never ever buy a phone with sealed battery. When there are no smartphones left with removable battery i will downgrade to feature phone without hesitation.
Right now i am using my Nokia 808 and MS Lumia 950XL (both have removable battery) and i am happy.
Trump Fan 1980, 06 Nov 2017 Are you gonna get one (?) :-) .Nope. I'm an analog audio guy. Also I hate the notch. And with those poor sales, the device could get unsupported early or the company could get bought and the device forgotten.
Anonymous, 06 Nov 2017No it isn't a good smartphone and neither are the other "flagships" - the difference really is... moreOh god one of these dudes... Let me guess, you believe 9/11 was caused by the government?
What did I say, for Christmas you can expect around 200. It could be best speced phone for lowest price, that would definitely be worth of its name :)
NoToBrandLoyalty, 06 Nov 2017Still overpriced considering it lacks the ESSENTIAL features like a headphone jack, removable ... moreWhen a person walks into a store they really are in the hands of the salesperson, I really think that it a very small % under 5% that know the full specs of their phone
Some of the comments are ill-informed despite being here so https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=8710&idPhone2=8720
If you're Google and have a name behind you, if not it is unlikely that the handset will be in store also
$440 is the difference, marketing cost, advertising practices could be a reason why, but one phone is almost twice the cost of the other
