Why is this surprising? Glass phones, with even less bezel. It's expected.
Buy a case, insure it, or be very careful with the phone. That's it.
if it were HTC phones the crucifixion by people would be out of this world.

Anonymous, 07 Nov 2017Does anyone change their phone yearly? Dont told me you will never drop your phone in a year.By today's ignorance and snobbism, i can tell you they will put a protection on this thing. One that will hide all those bazel less crapp and thin body. So, welcome to the tank era. Where people look for slim bandy smartphones to have a reason to buy a tank cover just to keep them safe from shattering cause of the friction with the wind. Idiocracy is today. It was here since apple released it's first phone (that was not a smartphone!!) funny, the year before the the release of the first crapp ever in the world, the movie with the same name (Idiocrqcy) was released, quite a good one too.
As someone said. You got a flat tire, better buy a new car. The new innovation from apple. More garbage to the world. Expensive one to. Thank you apple, you guys are helping poor people and the environment....to die ps. I wish all your owners go broke. Christmas wisch.

Anonymous, 06 Nov 2017Do you want bezel less phone? Are you ready to spend huge amount of money for repair? Then buy it.LG G6 actually tested with mil-std-810g which include dropping it from 1.2m height and passed the test.
So yeah, you can build "bezelless" phone with some degree of drop protection.
iPhone just prioritized the cosmetic aspect higher than durability in design.
NoToBrandLoyalty, 07 Nov 2017Apple: "You're dropping it wrong!"I have felt that someone would eventually come up with this joke :D
Can we then expect Apple to give a free case to every buyer?
I wish this issue "will be blown out of proportion that it's incredible..."
NAZI, 06 Nov 2017how can u call it a food it's not edible ? money money money The expired Stuff certainly isn't counted as edible..
in Australia, buying the phone from Vodafone automatically comes with 12 months insurance with no extra cost... I actually ordered the phone and paying it off over 36 months.

Vegetaholic, 06 Nov 2017It comes at wireless charging cost, which is really useful feature, just buy a case, never dam... moreWireless charging is a gimmick.
Firstly, many places, especially outside the Major USA cities don't have them.
Secondly, if you need a quick charge and a venue has it, can you really leave your phone alone and hope it doesn't get stolen? Otherwise, you're stuck guarding it like a celebrity.
Thirdly, it doesn't do anything inheritely better than a charging cable.
And lastly, it actually is worse, since you still need a cable to plug the charging pad, the charging rate is much slower, and you cannot charge and talk/use the phone at the same time.
Most people would rather have a phone with a Metal unibody, a boxier design, and some bezels (80% StB). It makes a phone less slippery, lighter, more shock endurant, and easier to repair. Especially if your device is some glass sandwiched, curved device, with a useless aspect ratio and almost zero bezels to stop accidental touches and pressure points.
