The question is if it's a review sample o a real production unit, apple is famed for cherry picking hand calibrated review units :(
Anonymous, 08 Nov 2017yeah. that even gsmarena themselves said not to trust lololololFunny cause GSMarena is one of the press/industry that rely on DxOMark for judging lens, digital camera, and smartphone camera quality.

AnonD-521587, 08 Nov 2017They changed testing protocol I just in time for the new iPhonesDefinitely because each year mobile phones camera improved and added new features that doesn't exist before.
This is completely bogus.
AnonD-623173, 08 Nov 2017Really now? Let the Samsung Fanboys & girls off the leash why don't you? So annoying...Oh but it doesnt matter that its true. When the iphone 8 came out and scored lower than in every category than the top contenders... But had a second lens so still got a higher score.
Let the apple sheep off their leash while scapegoating their egos onto others.
I still prefer the S8 screen

Right on cue, the Apple adds start rolling in for Christmas. Soon they'll be earlier than the supermarket decorations. Anyone who believes this is a review should buy the phone bcus they are the target audience for the Apple G-men who does similar advertising every year.

AnonD-380624, 08 Nov 2017Samsung makes the screen btwsI am aware, but I meant Apple had a secret lab or different R&D lab from different countries that test display and hardware.
Anonymous , 08 Nov 2017Why praise Apple when they did nothing? Why not praise the R&D lab that actually does the work.Samsung makes the screen btws
Anonymous, 07 Nov 2017Even at full screen was tested way brighter than that. As per displaymate: "The Samsung Galaxy Note8 can produce up to 1,240 nits, but only for small portions of the screen area (Low Average Picture Levels) – for Full Screen Brightness the Note8 can produce up to 423 nits with Manual Brightness and 560 nits with Automatic Brightness only in High Ambient Light. " Please read articles carefully next time

Congrats to Apple. I hope by having it set brighter they don't get burn-in too easily
