Some people commenting here clearly never ran a business or had a job, cause NOBODY LIKES to pay their hard earned cash to these loser governments, especially under the pretense of benefitting the people: when YOUR tax money is used to pay their high salaries, "feasibility study" fees for projects, overseas seminars, holiday trips & useless NGOs instead.
Seriously kids, just keep to bashing on phones only, cause that's all you'll ever know.
Yeah, yeah, it translates in: They make enevn more money and are able to make even more slave jobs paid with 100 Euros in China.
These businesses moving their headquarters to other countries to avoid paying taxes; makes me sick. I'm not going to ask whether it's greedy or seedy or evil or whatever; that's up to you... but think a lot of companies are doing this to save a handful of billions a year. How many private entities and small businesses only live off millions, let alone thousands?
Sure, these companies have a right to jump ship to a tax haven; it's great to save money and help the government of a stretch of land that doesn't have a lot to bring to other countries. It's all good until they become corporations; they are everywhere, and everyone, and they can't be stopped.
AnonD-713874, 07 Nov 2017I say congratulations to Apple! It should be every person and businesses right to avoid paying... moreYes, exactly.
You should pay for your own roads, healthcare services and other stuff. No more free stuff, let the regular people die because they can't afford the welfare services while letting the rich people rule the world even more.

apple Taxgate
AnonD-713874, 07 Nov 2017I say congratulations to Apple! It should be every person and businesses right to avoid paying... moreYou have no idea what you are talking about. That means that the company that evades taxes takes out the capital of your country, the money that you have spent and does not contribute to the welfare and maintenance of the economy. You must be another Apple abductee to say such nonsense. Or an American trying to suck on others.
The company picked Jersey as an alternative after a 2013 crackdown on its controversial tax practices in the Republic of Ireland, they reveal.
Apple moved the firm holding most of its huge untaxed offshore cash reserve to the Channel Island, allowing it to avoid billions of tax around the world – but has insisted the secretive new structure had not cut its taxes.
Until 2014, Apple had been exploiting a loophole in tax laws in the US and the Republic of Ireland known as the “double Irish”.
This allowed Apple to funnel all its sales outside of the Americas – currently about 55 per cent of its revenue – through Irish subsidiaries that incurred hardly any tax.
Instead of paying Irish corporation tax of 12.5 per cent, or the US rate of 35 per cent, its foreign tax payments rarely amounted to more than 5 per cent of its foreign profits – and dipped below 2 per cent in some years.
I say congratulations to Apple! It should be every person and businesses right to avoid paying as much taxes as possible. Taxation is theft!
Apple is wrong, most of the value created by Apple is created in China.
Many countries have been claiming that big corps like Apple and Google owe them tons of cash by unpaid taxes, like France. And this column of text just to say "We done nothing!" is phishy.
But ah beleives in Appdle! Comapnys arr not evil at ole! They would3 neeeveer do somethingy wrong lik not peying taxez or employeeng kidz under minimal wage all dayz in slave-like cunditions in China, right?
There is no doubt that it smells bad. And they are already trying to avoid consequences. But directly or indirectly over time they will force Apple to compensate, money is money, there is no truce, no expires, no pre-write, no forgetting.
Nobody has to justify himself if he has not done anything wrong. So going out to defend yourself is already a symptom of being afraid of being investigated and requesting protection from the person you pay the most. Wet paper. They did what was best for them, now the regulators do what they must. Trump will relieve them an extra under the table.
