and for the people who say it will be a problem. look you says it is dead OS. but it has thousands apps now. and without android app developers permission or modification android apps won't be available on N9. so there is no problem running apk apps coz it will be safe.
Anonymous, 23 Jun 2011I work for a Telecommunications company and refuse to sell Nokias anymore as they have gone do... moreWhat will you say if the N9 runs Android apps better & more smoother than the SGS 2!
Meego = Pure Linux
for the guys who says android apps will only run on dual core. N900 runs this app perfectly just like android phones. get the fact. search that video
[deleted post]Well your explanation can be turned around 180°
The fact that a lot of people will be willing to buy an non Android device, to run Android apps on it... Well that kinda says a lot about the Android devices rofl (I'm a DHD user, but the N9 revived the long lost Nokia fanboy in me)
[deleted post]if an app gets stuck, you just swipe to the task manager
and there are buttons on the sides, have you even looked at the phone?
for the people who says android app needs dual core. i say Hello, have you seen Alien Dalvik playing on N900 which specs are lower than N9 but apps ran smoothly just like android phone. so piss off.
With this shitty design, also Alien Dalvik is not in position to rescue this phone :) Maybe you can throw it aftewards a pickpocket and pray to hit his head. That's the only usage of this phone. Ugly as hell..
My God Nokia, in Gods name what were you thinking when you decided to incorporate Windows Phone?
This MeeGo device will enter the Smartphone market guns blazin'!!
(and you can see this now already by the huuuuge interest of consumers and even respected reviewers, who mostly are very skeptic towards new OS's)
AnonD-3601, 23 Jun 2011because meego is 100000 times better than androidkeep on dreamin kid
karl, 23 Jun 2011.this is the last chance nokia has to cheat death!!!yeah Meego will save Nokia 4 now & also when WP8 fails again.
Meego = Pure Linux
attention: nokia n9 and meego o.s. is a middle class segment device, a replacer of c7 and also a replacer of symbian anna and betty in the future nokia range. the nokia windows mobile, named now "w-00" as prototype, have 14 mp camera carl-zeiss and full hd videorecording. will be launch in september, but i have already tested. it's smashing!!!.
nokia n9 can't be compared with samsung galaxy 2 or sony ericsson xperia arc because this models are the maximum high-end of samsung or sony ericsson and this devices have android wich is an o.s. wich is mature,updated. let meego the same time to grow, to update and then you will can to compare and to have a just opinion. meego is just born!!!
There is nothing wrong with being loyal to a particular brand...
You shouldn't do it at the expense of your own integrity..
Meego is (was) probably a good OS - but it's been killed / ignored.. (by its own creators)
Technically it may have been better than Android, but quite clearly you can see it hasn't managed to scratch the market..
And the fact that people are having to create apps so that Meego users can have access to Android apps clearly shows how little it is going to be supported over the next 18 months...
I would have preferred to see Nokia team up with Google as opposed to M$ - but - maybe it's the differentiation they need...
I just think the new Windows Mobile is a bit boring and lacks customisation...
If the N8 had been an Android phone, the company would have cleaned up the market... such a missed opportunity.. and I suspect this will disappear into the ether just like the last few have..
Will there be an "Android Market" for MeeGo with all apps on the Google Android Market? Smart Keyboard Pro on N9 would be perfect!
I like N9, but only microSIM and no FM-radio and no Adobe Flash in the webbrowser make it impossible for me to buy N9! I hope a better MeeGo from Nokia soon will be released with normal SIM-card and FM-radio and Adobe Flash in the webbrowser!
opinion of this forum is not eloquent at all. here is a bunch of geeks and freaks wich want the ideal mobile phone wich will never exist because every company launch models very well balanced in terms of fabrication costs. nokia will never put a dual core cpu if the software can be tuned for the best performance on a single core cpu. every penny counts when you build thousands of models.despite all negative impressions, nokia n8 and c7 are the most wanted smartphones of the moment and this n9 will be the biggest hit of the market. everyone wants a nokia because:
1-reselling price is very high and the interest of the potential 2nd hand customers is still very high for nokia brand
2- if you buy at the same price a nokia, a sony-ericsson or a samsung device, and you will sell them after the same time of use and in the same condition, nokia is keeping the price better then all and is selling faster than all
3-service and internet software support is the best:free maps,free navigation
4-data transfer via bluetooth is very easy when you buy a new nokia and you must copy all the information from the old nokia to the new nokia.
5-chargers are the same,everywhere,everyone have a nokia charger if you have the need to charge your mobile
6-everyone is familiarized with nokia menu and don't want to loose time and nerves to teach a new menu of a new o.s. like android. busy businessmans,rush people wich run after money want to have a simple mobile,tough and with good battery and if they buy a new model they want to use it without spending one week to discover the new functions
for this reason nokia is the worldwide king
russel, 23 Jun 2011you are so righteven wp7 has porting software for converting iOS apps and android apps to run on WP7....and moreover the Developer of Alien Davik.."Myrid" is a member of OHA(Open Handset Allience) that constitutes the body of developers,OEMs and carriers of Google Android brand...so they wont support piracy in anyway....
I got to use this for my next movie lol this phone is so sick got to get 1,so this is like a phone with 2 os lol now that is wicked so many options that opens.
