George T., 09 Nov 2017This is the funniest story I’ve ever read about a phone - you have to blow into it to make-it ... moreNot exactly the same issue, but the Galaxy S4 gathered dirt near its proximity sensor after a while, rendering it unusable (like, the screen turned off and wouldn't turn back on while on call or listening to a WhatsApp audio, or something like this)
The solution: blow air in the earpiece (which was right next to the sensor), though for many people only pressured air cans worked.
So, it's not a first, but also is not something excusable (specially because the S4 issue only came up after over a year of usage, whilst the Pixel 2s are getting all these issues within a few weeks since their announcement)

Leave alone that new pixels are ugly, now they turn to have one too many problems.
Top tip: if your pixel 2 mic does not work during calls - do not blow into bottom speaker, just blow it off and buy a better looking and working phone!

Try blowing into bottom speaker(SERIOUSLY) glad I got don't buy flagships anymore,no disrespect to those who have,but come on all these apples Googles Sammy's ect ect are taking the mic,you want the earth for what ? Half baked product! Shocking to say the least!

These pixels have been pretty problematic really.....not good PR especially when you have phones like op5 and nokia 8 offering near stock with no issues. That's not too mention Samsung and apple.

Loved the little smaller Pixel 2 when I saw it last week. Photography was stellar I have to say. Felt nice too, not as good as the A9 glass to frame but still nice.

at least the note 7 has only the battery issue, iphone 6 has the bendgate, iphone 4 has the antennagate, but the pixel has multiple issues, is this google quality standards?!

Wow omg what an amazing phone, sooo innovative, such a fantastic stock software experience, Its a flipping google phone, totally worth the price tag without a shadow of a doubt! Look no further! This is the perfect device for you! Forget the Galaxy S8, forget the Note 8, forget the LG V30, forget the Xperia XZ, forget the HTC U11, who wants a device that actually functions like it should? That's so boring!

AnonD-39937, 09 Nov 2017This is what happens when you put other companies to manufacture your phones and you actually ... moreOnly SONY has remained Authentic, SONY produces all the hardwares by itself,Camera,headphones,display etc, SAMSUNG depends on KGI for headphones, Blackberry is made by some other companies, Nokia by HMD, and IPHONE depends on... For it's Oled display, we all go back to SONY one day and will apologize for the negative attitude towards this company for years.

Thank God I bought my s8+ (150$ off) pixel 2 is a disaster. I'll buy a pixel in 2020 once Google gets there act together

Basic features of a phone affected so badly and demanding $899 (Pixel-2 india) just for software is too crazy. Come up with your own production like Apple, you can still import components from other vendors. At least you might know what you have done to your hardware when such issues creeps in. Better luck next time Google. I was thinking to grab one if smaller Pixel 2 like it was rumoured before release. Thank god I will grab a 5t now. Peace!

And make no mistake: I do not believe that Google’s software changes are going to alter the bad experience of this screen.
