iPhone X is also having this issue in addition to touch screen becoming inactive in certain weather conditions (cold areas especially)...$1000 mobile or $1500 mobile all are having enormous amount of issues since 2016 on wards

I'm using my Zenfone Max for more than a year now and it has been a fantastic device that has never let me down.
I got the screen cracked, but it was my own fault after dropping it waist height on a rough road. The proximity sensor seems to have been affected, so I decided to remove it instead as I don't really use it at all in my life.
We also have a Asus laptop and it has been so good for more than 2 years.
Asus may not be the best OEM nor the most popular in the world, but one thing I have to praise them so much is their commitment to quality. Underdogs like them should be appreciated by this time where the professionals are failing like amateurs.

Maybe blowing into the screen will solve this new problem, this seems to work for the microphone problem...
And Google wants to compete with Apple, Samsung, Sony, LG..

Just when Google start being arrogant about their Pixel brand then this happened. Ok. We are so done with this. Terribly constructed phone. So many problems day after day.
All the worst features by Google: High pitched and clicking sound, black smears, display colors, burn-ins and suddenly extend warranty two years, audio and recording issues, random crash on Android Auto, Pixel Visual Core disabled in android 8.1, charging speed capped at 10.5W, mic not working during calls, now we have bright flash for unlock screen.
Recall it or refund it. Fyi, dont even buy it.

No more people say don't but Huawei or oppo product they are of poor quality. Quality is no more a concern from Chinese companies.

this is worst than the note 7, at least the note 7 we can pinpoint that the battery was the problem or the iphone 4 antennagate or the iphone 6 bendgate, this phone has multiple problems and we dont know what will pop up next
