When you think about Nokia, you'll think of WP7, a few months from now. SO its just the same. Nokia is JUST an OEM for Microsoft, along with Samsung and HTC. You think abandoning ones own OS (Symbian) to join some other OS bandwagon (WP7), is a sign of a leader ? Not even close!

I still agree with Nokia in not jumping Symbian to join the Android army. Every manufacturer these days are settling for Android. Nokia should always stand out and not be a follower but rather a leader. When you think of HTC you think of Android, when you think of Sony Ericsson you think of Android, when you think of Samsung you think of Android, when you think of Motorola you think of Android, when you think of LG you think of Android and the list goes on and on and on.

Nokia said it best "we did not choose Android because we did not want the Nokia brand to get lost with all the other Android devices out there".

Nokia does NOT follow the crowd. That's a sure sign of a LEADER!!!!!!

Then Nokia will be doomed. It definitely won't take nokia to the top.

I can't believe people are still on this. It wont happen. Wp7 or meego were the only choices open to nokia. I dont agree with the wp7 choice but i understand the logic in the choice. The android market is already flooded with manufacturers using the os. To differentiate themselves they needed an as yet limited distribution os to build their own direction.

Nokia with Android would've been epic fail. They would've just found themselves lost in a sea full of Android smartphones, all with the same characteristics, only having the brand and the physical design to tell them apart.
It's better this way. With a giant like Nokia on their side, Microsoft is pressured to reinvent smartphone software and compete Android and iOS. And it just might end well for us end users.

One of my greatest mistake and regrets i had with Nokia is buy Nokia N900 on MEAMO only for Nokia to abandon dat platform soon after, changing Os like a confused driver.
