The Ultimate combination Nokia + Android. Still I believe Nokia builds most trusted and robust hardware and I have never face network, battery and communication issues with my Nokia phones. [3310,6600,6610,n73, 5800]. If nokia wants to do something for it's loyal customers please give your users all the choice[Win/Android/Symbian/MeeGo] Let the user decide which one they want to enjoy.

Could this not just be the n950 (the open souce 'MeGo' running Nokia) flashed with Android?

Nagol, 24 Jun 2011Android sucks. It is the most overrated OS in cell phone history. Meego, Symbian, and WP7 are ... moreYou know what? I agree with you, even if I think that iOS is a bit more overrated than android. I'm also happy that Nokia hadn't pick android, I mean I use an android phone with gingerbread but I really don't feel that the os is that amazing and innovative, at least iOS was! Android just reminds me my old pocket pc from ten years ago, better apps and much more quantity, obviously, but not that different! If ice-cream sandwich doesn't deliver an all new experience I'm not sure if android will not take the route of the old symbian... If the N9 can manage to run android apps thanks to the alien dalvik I don't see any reason to keep using android and all those nasty launcher that basically are the same with small diferences. Even if it will be the only meego phone, who cares, with android apps you don't really need anything else!

Why are those Android fans wanted Nokia to use Android????? If IOS is a open OS, Nokia should use IOS instead of that rusty robot. IOS is much better than Android. Android is winning against Apple coz alot of other phone is using this rusty robot system. If IOS is open to every company for sure bye-bye rusty robot.

What good would it do if Nokia would have gone with Android? Where - other than the Nokia logo printed on the housing - would have been a real difference between Nokia Androids and other Android phones?

You surely could hold the same arguement against WP7, however, here Nokia has a big chance to make a difference. As most of you know, WP7 is far from perfect and lots of things are either still missing or need improvement. Here Nokia can create and contribute - a chance they wouldn't have with Android. For example, there is no real offline voice-guided navigation on WP7. Elop already announced that Ovi Maps will be made available to Windows Phone. On Android devices, Ovi Maps would already face heavy competition with Sygic Mobile Maps, Garmin, Navigon, CoPilot and many more ...

Well, Ovi Maps was only an example! I guess you all got my point. :)

No surprise, that's what "disruption" mean come from the N9-Hamattan/Meego, it should be able to run many OSes with dual or multi-boot and the 1gb cpu could be clocked more higher, no matter how hard the trojian flop pushing his wp, the winner will still be N9.
