People dont understand, Oreo and Google, have guidelines for OEMs.
Out of all Android versions recently, Oreo is major upgrade, introducing project Tremble, which in the guidelines, all phones COMING with Oreo outofthebox, MUST support it.
All the new guidelines from Google can be circumvent, if you produce a phone with Nougat on launch. In that case, OEMs must honor the Nougat guidelines, and not Oreo's.
So be careful when buy new phones at this time.
The Unboxing and hands on video of 5T has been released before itself official release. Lol man, the YouTuber is in big trouble
Anonymous, 11 Nov 2017Better wait for OP6 instead! They say SnapDragon 855 will be soooo much better than 845
Better wait for OP7 instead
abigfanoftechs, 11 Nov 2017Don't buy it as it doesn't come with Android Oreo!
You're just wasting your money.Yeahhh man
No pre-installed snake game
No Deal for me
OEM do this cheating everytime with customers by launching their device on older version of Android and in a few months they update it to latest Android version which include its first major update for the device and all they do is two major os update to their device.
If they launch it on Oreo then they have to update it to P and Q but now P will be the end of the line
FinnishInquisition, 11 Nov 2017Can I assume they won't launch it with Oreo in order to avoid having to implement Project Treble?Oreo is still in the beta stage for Oneplus.
Seeing this specification: http://www.slashleaks.com/l/oneplus-5t-leaks-in-full-ahead-of-launch-high-resolution-pictures-full-specs
my decision is NO GO.
I was expecting as a minimum the following upgrade when comparing with OP5:
OIS, battery at least 4000 mAh
None of them are included so can anyone tell me the reason to buy 5T?
- 18:9 isn't something I would like
- fingerprint sensor moved to back is a drawback in my opinion. Huawei was able to hold it on front in Mate 10 still keeping very good screen-to-body ratio)
- captive buttons removed is a fault
For other people a big disappointments can be:
- no waterproof protection
- no wireless charging
Personally I don't care about those two features as I don't plan to swim with phone nor charge it for hours wirelessly but again: there are so little upgrades with few big drawbacks that for sure I will not buy it. And whats so more: I expect that OP6 will be without jack so sad to say but this is my "goodbye to OnePlus"
Don't buy it as it doesn't come with Android Oreo!
You're just wasting your money.
Anonymous, 11 Nov 2017The images are reminding me of Nexus 5If you think it reminds you of the Nexus 5, take a look at the Oppo R11s. These sister companies clearly use the same parts bin (same was true of the 5 and R11S).
Why bother reporting benchmark scores? We know they've little relation to real usage, and OnePlus have a record of "optimising" these. If people stopped reporting on them it might give the manufacturers the inventive to concentrate on real usage and not waste time on benchmark fiddling.
They chose to run 7.1.1 because this phone including the 1+5 will receive only 1 update that is Oreo. After that, don't expect for another update.

They cannot compare and choose. In fact they sponsoring cheaters liars and thiefs just because they pretending to be clever and to buy "phone for geeks". It is NOT phone for enthusiasts and thinking persons who respect themselves. It's average poor quality and support overpriced chinaphone now. Wake up. 1+1 times is gone.
Can I assume they won't launch it with Oreo in order to avoid having to implement Project Treble?
Anonymous, 11 Nov 2017Better wait for OP6 instead! So since the OnePlus 5T has the headphone jack and fingerprint scanner on the back, next year the OP6 will not have a headphone jack and a facial scanner that will replace the fingerprint scanner.
Zoser, 10 Nov 2017In my opinion there is no reason to buy a OP 5T today, only if you only focus yourself in have... moreA lot of people buy the OP phones because of the incredibly rich development community available. The OP5/T is an excellent phone for this at a great price.
Anonymous, 11 Nov 2017That's because OnePlus 3 / 3T have different model numbers for different regions. Now with ... moreHaving one model number gives you faster update rollouts instead of the updates being region dependent
kaps, 10 Nov 2017The 3T has the model number A3000 not sure about the rest but I own a OP 3T n this is the mode... moreThat's because OnePlus 3 / 3T have different model numbers for different regions.
Now with OnePlus 5 / 5T they only have 1 model number (A5000 = OnePlus 5 / A5010 = OnePlus 5T) but with OnePlus 3 / 3T there is A3000, A3010 & A3003
