guys who talk about the plastic feel really do surprise me!!
do you guys want to pay money for a fashion accessory ,or for a smartphone loaded with features and specs?
does the feel really matter to you? do metal really feel all that good in hand?
I've tried both ,and my answer is NO
you see I've had a Nokia 5800 for two years now, and it's entirely made of plastic but still to this day it looks like it's brand new ,and I've had absolutely no problems with it's so called "cheap" plastic build.
plus my chunky old plastic-made 5800 feels lighter than the slim C7
why? because metal is damn heavy that's why
also ,the C7 doesn't feel much better in the hand ,in fact it feels slippery and a bit hard to hold when compared to the 5800.
so yes I'd buy a light plasticy Samsung over a heavy metallic HTC any day ,given that the specs are superior of course.
I'm a fan of Samsung
But something's odd here
When Samsung's S.AMOLED display was in war with Apples's Retina, they mentioned that it's not possible for OLED technology to go further than WVGA.
But after only one year they have managed to go as far as 720p!!!!!
That's the fact that bothers me a bit.
If they really have done it,That's great.
But isn't it odd?
I need to argue, 28 Jun 2011NONONONONON Samsung yark!!!!!!!!!!!!! HTC please i did not buy nexus s because of the plastic built.Samsung's android lineup is all cheap plastic. YUK. @Google please don't make another cheap plastic Nexus like Nexus S made by Samsung.

Soze, 28 Jun 2011Don't you think 1280x720 screen with a 1.5 GHz dual-core CPU will EAT THE BATTERY?not particulary
Popvictim, 28 Jun 2011My experience with samsung is not gud. My galaxy pop was dead within 1 week after buying. 1 mo... moreAgree with you dude. If its Samsung made, Google gona loose another one customer coz Im also not gona buy it. Must have the premium feeling for the price we pay (Something like a premium metal finish).I hate Samsung's crappy plastic feel. But have to admit that Samsung's AMOLED screens are superb.
Samsung already had their turn in making the 2nd Google phone and to make it fair (after all Android is open source) all manufactures should be allowed to have a go.
HTC - 1st
Samsung - 2nd
And now.... it should either be: LG, Sony Ericsson or Motorola. (just so its fair, that's all)
Don't you guys think so??
I am preety much egar to see how this is going to be look like....
as they mentioned Super AMOLED which is a trademark of samsung so surely its going to rock like GSII.
Anonymous, 28 Jun 2011Samsung's build quality is so poor. Hate the cheap plastic feeling. HTC and LG's build quality... moreI totally agree !! HTC's build quality is amazing and it makes you feel worth the amount sent just by holding the damn thing. Unlike galaxy series which gives a plastic feel.. Hope this speculation is wrong !!
Anonymous, 28 Jun 2011Its a developer phone and for such phones battery life is unimportant. Just see as how the N95... moreWhat the hell should that mean mate?
Isn't Google aiming consumers that are not developing?
Doesn't make sense.

My experience with samsung is not gud. My galaxy pop was dead within 1 week after buying. 1 month went but no response of service center. If google made it samsung then they will lose 1 customer..... :(
HD Screen with super amoled plus, thats gonna chew through the battery.
by the way, according to my calculation, a 1280x720 screen with 326 ppi will have the same width and only 6.73 mm more height than the current SGS2.
So it can fit into a similar sized phone.

Samsung's build quality is so poor. Hate the cheap plastic feeling. HTC and LG's build quality is far better than Samsung.
Anonymous, 28 Jun 2011HTC Sensation has 4.3 inch but the 16:9 aspect ratio makes it slightly smaller and fit the han... moreSGS 2 is 0.7 mm wider while 3 mm thinner. Do you really think Sensation is easier to hold? Have you ever tried to compare? I tried and can say you that thickness really makes the difference while you don't feel the width difference at all.
