AnonD-711468, 21 Nov 2017Imagine why 's't Google and Apple the first and most passionate proponents of sealed batteries... moreSealed battery ultimately results in planned obsolescence for sure and maybe for data mining as well.. I can live with sealed batteries in low end and mid range devices, but with flagships, I expect to use them longer than a few years, say 2-3 years, as I'm shelling out heck load of money. A phone with Snapdragon 835 SoC will be perfectly capable of running almost everything even after 2 years, but with sealed batteries, you won't even know the physical condition of the battery (I've had a lot of battery swelling cases) and once it runs out of juice, you need to pay additional service charges along with the battery cost. If the battery's removable, then there's no issue. How all of a sudden, non-removable batteries became the standard is an overnight scam. Manufacturers are here to make money more than anything else, so yeah, removal of essential features (dedicated SD Card slot, removable battery, 3.5mm Jack) is all business.. Sadly.
Hey, why stop getting their location info when you can sell ads with them?
I hate you Oogle. I don't want you to knwk where I am, then respect it. If someone kept asking where I was, then it would be harassing and thus a legal offense. And finding it out without my consent would be privacy violation and again a legal offense.
These multinational corporations... I swear...
"generally encrypted" lol
@Swaggy: non removable batteries make the phone slimmer. Also why are some android fans obsessed with Apple? Not even a single mention in the article yet.....
Imagine why 's't Google and Apple the first and most passionate proponents of sealed batteries ... I'll give you a hint it starts with "data" and it ends in "mining"..
And I can understand them, I really do, they have to turn a buck. The proponents (for sealed batteries) in here I don't understand... they only lose (autonomy, charge time, servicability, privacy) and they gain close to nothing ... they say one is born every second ... oh well.
I always knew it.. Despite location services being turned off, apps and websites still able to collect location data. This is pretty bad and just an outright violation of user privacy. Android would've been a better OS if it was completely Google-free. Hope new smartphone OS will arrive soon to provide more options for users.
But mah freedom
Of course they do, they would be dumb not to.
