android version 7.0 in s6 leaves 200mb free out of 3gb ram, and hangs for 10 to 15 minutes even if you only think to unlock it, i hope it will be hanged for whole month when it will run oreo version.
Are you giving credibility to a conversation with the support? I would not recommend it.
It could leave on a roadmap of a branch of Samsung, which was still better to be suspicious, because it arrives on time and the device does not receive (as happened with the Galaxy J5 2015, Galaxy J7 2015 and Galaxy On7 2015 regarding Android Nougat) .
Just be excited if Samsung issues a certification with the Wi-Fi Alliance.
Otherwise, it's best not!
Symbian addict, 24 Nov 2017My xperia z went from 4.1.2 to 4.3 to 4.4.4 to 5.0 and finally 5.1.1 It was even better than the LG Nexus 4 in that regard.
Onyxia, 25 Nov 2017My Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 with S-Pen from 2015 got Android Nougat this month! From Lollipop ... moreMy Tab A8 got it too, but two months ago. Did you get the two updates? THe first brings N 7.1.1 and UX8.5, and the second brings Secure Folder as a system app and ups the security level to August 5 (firmware ends in AQJ5)
The last update is only for Canada and USA (others only get AQJ1)
The Galaxy J3 got Nougat (with KRACK/November patch in Canada only). Yup, these two devices that costs about CAD200 got quite their load of major updates. Two or 3 years ago, you couldn't except even one update for mid-range Samsung phones. Their policy is really improving and it's only logical that their big phones get more Android upgrade sweetness. But I still wish the N4 and A5 2015 got Nougat.
Shazzy B, 25 Nov 2017Guessing if the S6 is getting Oreo, then us Note 5 users should be in the clear too, no?The Note5 was already confirmed to receive the update to Oreo sometime soon.

Anonymous, 25 Nov 2017As they should be. What ya want them to do? Raise the baaaaaaaa by buying a new phone every year? Every year is an over statement. Make it every two years as it should be. Afterall, why keep your old phone if you can get a new one with an upgrade program. No extra charge for certain program. Your phone contract is only two years anyway. Be smart and grab all the ongoing promotion. Though, I know some just dont like the new smartphone looks. Your choice.

These are the Samsung Phones that are confirmed:
2017 A series phones
S6/S6+/S6 Edge/S6 Edge+
J7 Pro 2017 (Probably)
C9 Pro 2017 (Less likely)
Devil GK, 25 Nov 2017Tab A 8.0 is bundled with S-Pen??? But I don't have S-Pen with mine ...it have two version. Tab A with S-pen, with a pen slot like the Note series, and one without.
My Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 with S-Pen from 2015 got Android Nougat this month! From Lollipop to Marshmallow to Nougat! And it's a budget tablet. Getting TWO major software update. So I really think Samsung is upping their game and will update the Galaxy S6 to Oreo.
No love for the Sammy's Note5 ? I mean it is the same device that came out after the S6 family ? Still hoping Sammy will update it to oreo since the last Note7 fiasco.
