As I sow better phone's especially for gaming which come with significantly larger display, battery & 3.5 mm jack that cost half the price of it's bad, missed product even now with healthy cut price while not being heavier. Anything he has to say doesn't drink a lot of water.

3.5mm jack for me is more important than an extra camera, even mre important than back camera (and i do use my camera a lot), don't even think about a phone not having it (and a good one) unless standard for headphones changes (in case the phone should have that one)

People wont easily believe that bcause they still can see some manufacturer able to put 5000-6000mah into a phone. I can even replaced my samsung battery that only has 2900mah with 3500mah from 3rd party and it last longer than the original and no issues anymore, i replaced it bcause after 3months usage i encountered issues like phone cant charging, slow charging, charging wont exceed 60% etc etc

All right go and do remove 3.5mm of hole, but! Do something like this: creating extra USB type c input on top bottom! Next generation of headphones & earphones also adaptation to older headphones in ear over ear with adaptors (USB type c to 3.5mm) that's all

Not includ... moreHe hunts spec obsessed market with that "phone for gamers" and somehow thought removing 3.5mm jack is good idea for this market ? You know the market that bitch about missing micro-sd slot.
Not to mention, not long after this, OnePlus 5T who also hunt spec obsessed market albeit the one that looks for bargain is wise enough to kept its 3.5mm jack.

CM3, 27 Nov 2017LOL. I found this comment section really funny. Before companies started to remove the hea... moreWireless headphones has planned obsolescence so it's not worth buying quality ones and then throw them away in a few years. Even if you could open them find spare batteries ... Headphones with jack are by far a better inversion. Is not only about audio quality, it's about money, inversion, life time, usability "playing while charging" without extra and usually expensive accesories, etc.

Hmm I'm not as much opposed to the usb c headphones as much as not being able to use my phone while charging.. I know iknow its not good for the phone.. Blah blah blah.. Seeing that i end up changing my phone every year anyway.. For misc reasons.. I really don't see the point... It seems the solution might be i n the cable than the phone.. A charger cable with pass through might mitigate the drastic change 3.5mm jack lovers hate.. Myself including..

LOL. I found this comment section really funny.

Before companies started to remove the headphone jack, people used to bash the f**k out of audiophiles. They'd say that anything above 320k mp3 is unnecessary, high end audio gear is a way of companies to rip off stupid audiophiles, bluetooth sounds good enough, etc.

Now all of a sudden those people became "super audiophiles". Saying stuff like wired has better sound than bluetooth (whereas now, the newer bluetooth audio accessories do actually sound good - more than enough for day to day usage), their "high end" headphones are now obsolete (which audiophile uses their phone as a primary listening device anyway ? - unless it's a LG V series phone........... but that has a jack.........why are they complaining then?).

An entire album in proper 24bit-192KHz flac format (8-12 tracks) is easily 1-2 Gbs (even more at times). I'm willing to bet that most of the people that are complaining, doesn't even know of this formats existence and majority of those who do, aren't willing to spare so much phone storage for only a dozen songs (in regular 320k, 2Gbs can hold about 200 songs).

The typeC port will never replace the 3.5mm (or 6.4mm) jack in terms of audio quality, but that level of quality can only be appreciated by professionals and true audiophiles......not the regular user. And if these regular users would stop complaining and just embrace the removal of the jack, we'd probably get better wireless earphones for much lower prices, sooner. Who knows, they might even get wireless charging. And then there is the usual perks like bigger phone battery or slimmer body, easier and less costly to waterproof, etc.

I use a Sennheiser HD 599 btw. And my primary listening device is my PC with a Creative SoundBlaster Zx audio card. I know what I'm talking about when it comes to audio quality.

I'll say this tho, it was a cheap move on Razer's part not to include a typeC hammerhead in the box at that price. Maybe if the phone was a 100-150 USD cheaper, no earphones in the box would be excusable.

And to those that are saying that no one will buy this phone..........enough people are going to get one, for Razer to decide to keep releasing at least one phone every year.

I for one am most likely going to buy a Moto Z2 play over the much more expensive Z2 Force, simply to get the 3.5mm jack, despite its otherwise inferior specs...

lulz trying to explain bad decisions isn't going to help those poor sale figures... Not including a headphone jack put off A LOT of potential customers from the already incredibly small number of people who would even consider it. Not only are most people sensible enough not to spend that much for a phone from a manufacturer who can't make a reliable mouse(let alone a smartphone), but there are half of dozen other options that don't forgo arguably necessary features - like a headphone jack... Just like with the essential phone, expect prices to significantly drop in the coming months.

Did he justify the terribly dim display, awful battery life and mediocre camera? He might need to go back to the drawing board on this one.

Without a headphone jack it is impossible to play games using headphones while charging the battery! The phone could have been a little bit thicker to have the same size battery and a headphone jack!
Why do a gaming phone need a camera, why not remove the camera to make place for a bigger battery? The headphone jack is just as important as a camera on a smartphone!
