My point is, I chose iPhone for what it can do to suit my needs, and I'm happy with it. You probably chose your Android for what it could do too right?
Any problems there? Or am I missing something?
Anonymous, 03 Jul 2011Zzzz the problem is that you fall into the same old Android argument that comparing specs list... moreOk, lets just take it this way.
-Can your iPhone 4 play 1080 flash content, play 1080 MKV movies, record 1080p movies?
And can you even play one 1080p MKV movie with a movie player, and at the same time browse the web and then plays a 1080p flash movie and at the same time play a game while it doesn't lag at all on your phone?
-Can you plug your Android phone to an adapter or connect your Android phone to a wireless adapter that can control your whole house with the new things that are coming that was revealed in the last Google I/O keynote?
-I can use Skype with video calling without any sorts of hacking. All i have to do is to install the "hacked" Skype apk version that works on the Galaxy S II. I don't know why Skype isn't adding more devices that can use video calling when they in fact can use it.
-I can both do a full backup to my computer and right from my phone that stores the full backup on my microSD card on the phone.
So i can either choose to do the backup on my computer or to do it right from the phone. Can you do both the same with the iPhone 4 :-) ?
And yes, iTunes is pure crap on Windows, it's slow and it's buggy. So i rather enjoy to not be forced to use different programs to be able to use my phone fully out.
Because the iPhone 4 doesn't support flash content, then the web browsing experience is pretty poor. And at the same time, when you see how smooth everything on the Galaxy S II goes, even in the web browser, then believe me, everyone will laugh at iPhone 4 when you see the performance in those things on the iPhone 4.
Flash and bluetooth file transfering is something that should be an absolute standard on every smartphones in 2011. I even had freaking bluetooth file transfering on my extremely old Ericsson T68i back in the days.
In some cases tech specs have nothing to say. But in this case when it's about Galaxy S II and iPhone 4, then the tech specs have ALOT to say, because the tech specs on the Galaxy S II just beat the holy crap out of the iPhone 4. And you see that when you compare the performance on both phones.
So if you really cares about having a very powerfull phone that can do everything a smartphone can do in 2011 without lagging, then Samsung Galaxy S II is the way to go.
So in this case, you can live with your slow and outdated iPhone 4 from the stoneage.
Tom-Helge, 03 Jul 2011First of all, the Samsung Galaxy S II i own is a new phone bought from Netcom here in Norway.
... moreZzzz the problem is that you fall into the same old Android argument that comparing specs list means that your phone can do more, which isn't always the case.
- Can your Android play Street Fighter Volt protocol multiplayer with others around the world? (insert multiple other gaming titles here)
- Can your plug in an electric guitar to your Android and jam with headphones
- Can your Android use Skype video calling without hacking? (Hehe just a little joke since you use SGS2)
- Can you do a FULL backup to a PC and then restore that to a new phone?
OK you get the picture. The key thing here is that, the above have to do with what you guys always insult iPhone for, iTunes and App Store. It makes a difference, believe me.
The iPhone is not the most powerful phone, I think I would be silly to try and admit otherwise. But an iPhone is a portal to an amazing App Store, which expands your phone in amazing ways.
I'm sorry, but I just can't bring myself to cry at night for missing bluetooth file transer and flash on web. For those who absolutely have to have this, by all means go for Android. No objections here.
Android fans need to learn what it is that has captivated so many millions of users. Tech specs are just one half of the equation. The user experience, and wealth of apps make a big difference for a lot of people.
That being said, use what suits you best. Android or iPhone, use what makes you happy.
ios just little bit better than android, ios need a lot improvement in their software such as flash support, mass storage and other

Secondly, yes, when you see what you get for the money on an iPhone 4 and then looks on what the Samsung Galaxy S II can do and what you get for the money there, then the iPhone 4 is ridiculously expensive.
For what the iPhone 4 can, then the price should at least have been halved on it.
And like the link longer down said, that iPhone users have more sex, but who cares about that when the whole point is that you should use your expensive device as much as you can instead of throwing it in a locker where it gather dust so you can have more sex.

[deleted post]By the way, Samsung Galaxy S2 owners have no business calling iPhone expensive. It indicates that either:
1. You don't own an SGS2, or
2. You stole it
LOL
LOL hilarious comments all round. Back to the topic. iPhone sales are up, Android sales stagnant. Anyone dispute this? Take it up with GSMArena, they're the ones who posted the article.

OH yes I'm SURE that's what that survey means. Just another empty fandroid comment.
And no I do not own an iPhone.
Anonymous, 03 Jul 2011Actually its interesting to note that iPhone is also making a lot of inroads in the business s... moreThat's a very good point. The company I work for is now making a switch into using iPhones in our stores rather than the old basic platform. And we have like 1700+ locations each getting like 25 or so devices. That's a lot of iPhones added to the business sector by just one company.
fan boys suck, 03 Jul 2011apple? I thought it was a fruit? well apple is famous in the USA/EU in other country it s Sam... moreEverybody keeps saying "androids have better hardware" etc etc. Yes they do (a few) but its not about the hardware... its about the software! iOS takes very little to run, same with others like Symbian, I had a Galaxy S with 1ghz and I think 512mb ram. It was running Android 2.2 and froze and crashed all the time. I now have a Nokia N8 running only 680mhz and 256mb of ram. It runs smoother and has far less problems than the Samsung did. As for your other dumb comments about why people buy iPhones - well its just jealous hate talk so its not really worthy of a response since it cannot be backed up with demographic statistics to prove what you said. I know plenty of people with iPhones and they don't fit YOUR description of who they are.
Anonymous, 03 Jul 2011Agreed. There's not much worse than Android fans these days. They don't even realise they may ... moreYes, there is. It's called "fans" without any qualification.
It was only a matter of time until the amount of dumb people in Android reached the same level of dumb people using iOS. Actually, give enough time and fierce competition in the market space, and many customers will "pick sides" and start to battle for nothing. Give more popularity and they start appearing. Let's face it: there is nothing we can do. It happens in politics, economics, cars...
Sadly, so this happens everywhere. Just look at the MeeGo/Maemo forums. The difference is that there is so much more Android/iOS users that those pesky fans appear more. And with 38% of the market space (or 65% if you cound 38 Android + 27 iOS), be prepared for more. Incoming...!
Anyway, for whatever is worth, I wouldn't change my Nexus S for nothing. I had the i4, but sold it after suffering the death grip and other nuisances (not that android does not have its own nuisances...). So, I prefer the Android system.
iOS share is increasing cause people who bought Androids realized what garbage it is and are moving back to the iPhone.

They don't even realise they may be the reason people are starting to be put off Android, and its not even the phones (which are great)

So defensive when presented with facts, throw out a Kane response, hide for a while, things quieten down then come back out to hurl more rubbish.
I'm a tech fan, I love iPhone as well as other phones, and have no problem with others choosing what they want. Why is it that Android fans need to convert others?
Free choice FTW!

Are you trying to make an Jailbreak? For grandmothers?? Only for girls?? Geeze, you don't know what are you talking about! Are you? And in UK and Japan are the best selling phones, not our beloved Samsungs....
There are countries that iPhone has very strong presence and they don't need Android to have good sales, they are from their own...something Samsung never could reach if they don't used Android.
iOS is one of the best OS for beign easy, intuitive and fast.
So If you can't afford one don't come and crie on US.
in malaysia, many of us use nokia, then android phone. iphone is just too expensive. and yet the specs is a bit 'slower' than android in the same price range. however, more & more people are buying samsung, htc & htc. i think android is the way to go for malaysians.
AnonD-12745, 03 Jul 2011Shows how strong the US economy isYeah, when you steal oil and natural resources from half the worlds helpless countries under false pretences it tend to get you a good economy.
