ZloiYuri, 28 Nov 2017You are liar. They do not developing testing or other staff for hardware. Just design language... moreYou have no idea what you're talking about boy. Your opinion does not matter, quite at all. But to see a kid screaming Nokia has no skills, is like reading the dumbest exam ever written. First inform yourself before talking , it might make you look smarter! As for nokia 8 pseudoflagship? Kids like you praise one plus crapp, a device with no innovation, no nothing, just simply hardware slammed inside of a fragile body. Yet you dare talk about nokia? This guys invented the technology you hold in your hands. They actually invented the network you're using to keep close with your, most probably, "smart"-ies friends like you. Don't you dare talking about Nokia like that, especially when so much ignorance surrounds your being...
FinnishInquisition, 28 Nov 2017You have absolutely no idea how big Foxconn manufacturing capabilities are, do you? They have ... moreYou have FAR more patience than me Finnish Inq. Everybody with a brain knows the full story behind Nokia's comeback in the smartphone business. And they know full well that the current line-up is Nokia phones through and through. But some people just like conflict. Or maybe they don't like the fact that Nokia is back
FinnishInquisition, 28 Nov 2017You have absolutely no idea how big Foxconn manufacturing capabilities are, do you? They have ... moreClearly you lack reading comprehension and you must ignore the meaning of proportionality. But it makes me laugh to see how obstinate you are with your brand, you are the clear example of the faithful small group that will buy what they throw at them. They should give you a case as a present with your next Nokia. Although taking into account how overpriced they are, it should be included since you do them the favor of buying it.
ZloiYuri, 28 Nov 2017You are liar. They do not developing testing or other staff for hardware. Just design language... moreWhere did you get the idea HMD only has 50 engineers? Post your sources, since you're spouting lies or troll around. Calling Nokia's expertise "trash" is just highlighting your bias on this subject.
Essential Phone developed the Essential Ph-1 with only 100 employees. Why do you think Nokia veterans can't do the same with 500 employees? Do you honestly think you need several thousands of employees just do design, develop and test a phone?
The whole design and development is entirely done by HMD in Finland. That's also why Nokia have their oversight and patent deals with HMD, not Foxconn.
FinnishInquisition, 28 Nov 2017Let's look at your quote from Wikipedia that you apparently struggled to read; Foxconn bought ... moreYou are liar. They do not developing testing or other staff for hardware. Just design language. All other doing Foxconn. They bought back some patents and that's all they did. Marketing, pricing, software updates - yes. Hardware - no. Are you sure 50 (of 500 employees in HMD global at 2017 year) engineers can do everything? You are naive or troll. It's impossible. Do you know how many time it takes to develop newphone if you will order it at such giant as Foxconn? From 3 months if we take such crap as nokia 2 up to 6 months for pseudoflagship as nokia 8. If you will add something like better case (not cheap aluminum), qi charging, DAC, or other like this - it will take up to 9 months to develop and test prototypes and to make technology for production. So please stop spread this nonsense like ex-nokia employee for one year started to produce something as they pretend to. We've seen all their "talents" from real Nokia times till last Lumias that were literally trash. These people have no talent and skills to develop anything.
Kane, 28 Nov 2017Let them announce it. It'll arrive months later, as usual, and overpriced. A phone only for so... moreYou have absolutely no idea how big Foxconn manufacturing capabilities are, do you? They have 1.3 million employees in 10 countries, manufacturing products for hundreds of companies, including Xiaomi, Huawei, Google, Blackberry, Apple, Sony and many many more.
To think Foxconn is only manufacturing for Apple, and Nokia gets a "small corner" is beyond ignorant.
Let them announce it. It'll arrive months later, as usual, and overpriced. A phone only for some fans that will buy the cloned phone at any price. Apple is important for Foxconn, only one corner of the facilities is dedicated to Nokia.
ZloiYuri, 28 Nov 2017Let's look what in real. Citation.
"Some factories of Microsoft Mobile, including one located... moreLet's look at your quote from Wikipedia that you apparently struggled to read; Foxconn bought the Vietnamese factories from Microsoft. HMD uses Foxconn for manufacturing. If we went by your logic, Apple is also a Chinese company owned by Foxconn? Is that it?
HMD are Finnish. They had over 500 employees when they started in 2016, and do all of the design, development, testing, support, software and marketing. Foxconn are merely the one they outsource manufacturing too, much like Apple.
Guess how many employees Essential Products have? About 100. HMD are already 5 times larger than the other new smartphone company.
So, let's see here... You're the one that keeps lying. Now stop stalking me, you're only embarrassing yourself.
In my opinion it seems a very interesting phone and that surely it will have some great features and at a very good price because it is not necessary to pay more than 1000 euros as it happens in other brands that we all know.
I think the design is fantastic, and you have to know that HMD is a company made up of workers from the old Nokia that Microsoft bought it.
And here is where the problem lies: Microsoft kept the Pureview patents and other designs for the Lumia, so the work they are doing at HMD seems very good to me.
Mr, 28 Nov 2017The company was integrated into a new Digital Health unit of Nokia Technologies. On 18 May 201... moreExcept, you know, HMD do all of the design, development, testing, support and software. So if you ignore everything except the manufacturing, they're Chinese? In the same way that Apple is a Chinese company, because Foxconn manufacture their devices as well..?
FinnishInquisition, 28 Nov 2017Do I actually need to repeat myself? HMD are located on the Nokia campus in Espoo (Finland)... moreBasically Microsoft killed Nokia. It will be very hard or almost impossible for Nokia name to return to market successfully. They are not offering anything special or unique.
FinnishInquisition, 28 Nov 2017Do I actually need to repeat myself?
HMD are located on the Nokia campus in Espoo (Finland)... moreLet's look what in real. Citation.
"Some factories of Microsoft Mobile, including one located in Vietnam, had been sold to FIH Mobile, a subsidiary of Taiwan-based Foxconn, the world's largest electronics manufacturer. It was agreed that HMD products would be manufactured in the FIH/Foxconn factories. The total sale to both HMD Global and FIH Mobile amounted to US$350 million. HMD have insisted to spend US$500 million in supporting the marketing of the new products over the next three years"
Foxconn developing and producing everything. HMD global just into marketing and software support. It's hard to do domething with tiny company ad HMD global. Just 500 employee all around the world. So you liar again.
The company was integrated into a new Digital Health unit of Nokia Technologies. On 18 May 2016, Microsoft Mobile sold its Nokia-branded feature phone business to HMD Global, a new company founded by former Nokia executive Jean-Francois Baril, and an associated factory in Vietnam to Foxconn's FIH Mobile subsidiary.
Has nothing with Nokia anymore except couple guys who were working for Nokia before.
Mr, 28 Nov 2017You mean return of chinese company which bought name Nokia and which has nothing to do with No... moreDo I actually need to repeat myself?
HMD are located on the Nokia campus in Espoo (Finland) right opposite the Nokia Corporation HQ, are made up of Nokia Devices veterans, have Nokia on the board of directors, have Nokia set the minimum device requirements and lets Nokia Technologies do the R&D.
Nokia is still a massive corporation with over 100 000 employees and some $25 billions in yearly revenue. HMD is a startup company made up of Nokia veterans that are testing the waters again on mobile devices, with extremely close ties to Nokia Corporation. The only difference from the Nokia Devices of old is that HMD are leasing patents and branding from Nokia in return for royalties, instead of Nokia being directly invested in HMD.
Lol what the heck, that looks exactly the same as my pixel 2 case https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07471C38C/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1511898388&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=pixel+2+case&dpPl=1&dpID=41OxCpsLDyL&ref=plSrch
FinnishInquisition, 28 Nov 2017What's up with all the trolls in this comment section? Are fanboys of other brands so terrifie... moreYou mean return of chinese company which bought name Nokia and which has nothing to do with Nokia which was made in Finland?
