From various test on battery drain test I have seen on YouTube the phone that has a long battery life is Oneplus 5, followed by oneplus 5t. If you follow the amperage on the battery, you can be misled.

got the XZ1 Compact about a month ago, expecting a day and a half of battery and at days it won't even make it to bed time! I'm a bit disappointed to be honest

It's other companies that do it for them! More cores? Come on, even Speedtraum can do an octa core big.LITTLE chip. Kyro cores? Try again... Faster Modems? Yeah, but first, only one country supports 4x4 MU-MIMO plus 4CA for these speeds so... and you do not need billions to do something faster. A million will suffice. Faster QuickCharge? See last statement. More MP cameras? Everyone is content with 12MP and the max in a dual-camera setup is a 20MP. Also it's just a more powerful ISP.

Lol at optimization. The only reason the compact has that kind of battery life is it powers a small display with fewer pixels that naturally wouldn't need too much energy.

Before other Sony fans attacked you, How about we imaginate a case to make you at least realize a thing you shouldn't underestimated ? Let's put 2700 mAh from first XZ1 Compact to A7 2017 and, then compare to second XZ1 Compact with its original battery. Or let's put 3600 mAh from first A7 2017 to XZ1 Compact and, compare it with second A7 2017 with its original battery. I bet Sony battery's endurance rating will far better than Samsung as most user and people said, Sony's biggest tricks and keys on great battery life was on optimization on hardware-software and light UI.
XZ1c on 3600 will leave A7 2017 with its original battery in dust. That can be said the similar if not the same, with XZ1 with original battery versus A7 2017 with 2700. I had to do this because your mindset is always bigger battery is better, not deep optimization is better. Even you're going to replied to me saying that's not ever fair for reason of different resolution, how about, if you put this on original XZ1 (same battery as XZ1c) with same case of its compact counterparts, it will still wins for XZ1 no matter what due optimization. Do i need to mention how fast is Xperia Home UI compare to Samsung Experience, huh (forget about features and beautiful design icons, we're talking about who's faster)? End of discussion.
