64Gb is enough. MicroSD (expandable memory) is a must.

Personally 32gb is enough or me with a sd card if needed, I sell phones on the daily so I know there's loads of phones out there which can take sd cards, id like to just have a 250gb phone which doesn't need to have a sd card but the prices are crazy for what im looking to spend

Striker, 04 Dec 2017I really wonder who needs more than 16GB, honestly? It's a phone, not a server or a PC. My pre... moreThat's your opinion dude. I for one, since I got me Sony flagship have barely touched my PC.
I do almost everything on my phone except for photoshop maybe. I even code and do programming on my phone. I download torrents straight on my phone too and SD card is a must for this.
Nowadays a phone can do a LOT of things. They're not just phones anymore. With the right set of skills and determination you can even hack with you phone. It just takes some brains.
In a few years the PC's as we know them will be extinct. Just like the cassette, cs, dvd etc.
Study some java and you'll see the potential smartphones have. Not to mention their processing architecture is getting better each year.
If you're a regular user, get a mid-range phone, but if you're into technology, programming, coding and related things like this, get a high-end flagship with SD card slot.
            SD card all the way!

Even with high capacities there should still be an sd slot.

I travel a lot, and usually to or through an area where you don't have any connection. It's nice to always prepare for music, movies, videos, etc. pre-loaded. also, I'm still a student, so you should put budget constraint in consideration, where an sd card plays a good role in there

I really wonder who needs more than 16GB, honestly? It's a phone, not a server or a PC. My previous phones had 32GB and I could NEVER exceed 10-15GB. My current one has 16GB and I have had not a single day of worry about insufficient memory. Jeesh!

High end phones without microSD cards should come with 128GB. I voted for 64GB though as it is enough for me, even though I have a 128GB phone (no option). Remember than speed of the storage especially write speed is limited with smaller capacities, so it's not just about space available.

microSD is BS on Android. It's just a way for manufacturers to cut cost on storage while tricking customers that the microSD storage is "the same" as internal storage. In reality, majority of apps, even Google apps, cannot be installed on microSD, making it only useful for media. But apps are getting larger and larger, and many OEMs are restricting the use of microSD card, disabling adoptable storage.

So imo 64GB of INTERNAL storage should be minimum today. It is comfortable enough to have ample media and apps with space for the life of the phone. I have a 32GB Android, and it's already filled up with apps, and I don't even have music nor videos on it.

Having said that, it is good to see OEMs like Xiaomi putting 32GB even on their cheap Redmi phones. We will always see 16GB devices at the ultra low end, same as we will keep seeing Android with Kitkat being sold as new.

While 4k video recording, 4k at 60fps, even HD at 960fps are USPs of the flagship phones , 12mp cameras on both front and rear, and 1080p video recording and Q HD screens almost norm, and every new Android version is restricting SD card access more than ever, for the top tier phones 256GB should be base. And If I would buy a V30 or any other phone, 1TB is what I would love to have :—\
People will argue that this demand is insane, and 256 is enough (or more than enough) . but come on, if you're talking about enough, then why are you getting the latest flagship at first point. Because in that sense, 1080p is also enough, snap dragon 820 or 660 or 652 is also enough (specially for that that screen), 3 GB ram is also enough, 1080p video @60fps is more than enough and to be honest, so is a last year flagship or even an upper mid ranger is more than enough sometimes.
