Should Nokia update Nokia 3 to 8.0.0 Oreo or 8.1 Oreo Go Edition directly?
PassingBy, 02 Dec 2017The Nokia 3 is on 7.1.1 not 7.0 & it's got monthly security updates every month up to Nove... moreConsidering that the December update hasn't been published by Google as of this writing, it's not surprising that no Nokia has it yet. ;)
Shouldn't the article be updated? It falsely claims that the Nokia 3 is stuck on Android 7.0 which is not the case. All versions of the phone are running 7.1.1 or at least have the update available.
Alcatel Pixi 3 4.5, 03 Dec 2017Oreo isn't that much different to Nougat innit As a nexus user i can say there is big difference in looks and performance.
Usually media Tek chip set are always the sluggish one and receive the update very late. I wonder how HMD will settle this situation on their Nokia 3 and what would the result be?
LG superfan, 02 Dec 2017Will nokia 2 be updated?Great make it even slower ... if thats possible
Great, keep it. Its understandable that mediatek provide bad service to low end, but SD801 which dont get nougat is not understandable, leaving xperia z3 moto x2, htc 9 out luck.

Andy, 03 Dec 2017So... Nokia are liers. Lied about the 7.1 update why should be trust that they will release th... moreNokia 3 is on 7.1.1, as mentioned earlier in this thread. It received the 7.1.1 update at the end of August. And it has been receiving the monthly security updates.
I'm guessing HMD just decided to skip the 7.1.2 update because MediaTek chips have historically been a headache when it comes to supplying updates, so they may as well spend all the extra man-hours jumping it straight to 8.0.
Oh....If indeed true Nokia 3 always up to date maybe i will buy it, though drawback is chipset used mediatek and it also without fingerprint, it compare with same mid range price such as : Moto E4/ E4 Plus, Sharp R1, Advan G1 Pro, Infinix Note 4, Evercoss Genpro Z, Blackberry Aurora, Wiko Upulse, Xiaomi Redmi 4X, Himax Xplay and Samsung J7 Core.
So... Nokia are liers. Lied about the 7.1 update why should be trust that they will release the Oreo update. The Mediatek chip excuse is pathetic. Hope this new HMD Nokia dies out too.
Anonymous, 02 Dec 2017And this is why Mediatek will never make a good money. They like to screw customers for nothing.MediaTek recently has joined Google's GMS Express for providing faster driver updates.
