ZloiYuri, 05 Dec 2017It seems that Treble requires a special engineering and coding skills. HMD Global just have no both.It seems that Treble requires /vendor which HMD didn't need, unlike phones filled bloatware like your S8.

And it seems that making a comment requires comprehension and wisdom. You have neither.

Even better than Samsung and LG. I own a P10 Plus, and I get monthly updates with new security patches! This is really good for a smartphone with a heavily skinned UI. Still not in the same level as HTC and Nokia though.

Well, they surely need to step their game up - their history with updates is embarrassingly bad. OnePlus pulled off a bad one by not launching the 5T with Oreo, just to ignore Treble and faster updates. Well, 2018 is almost here and this problem should be long gone with new phones. :-)

Hiroshima Daisuki, 06 Dec 2017What is HMD and Project Treble? Can you explain this in a simplified manner? I'm new here so p... moreHMD Global is a consumer Electronics company, who have got License from 'Nokia Technologies' to design, Produce Nokia Phone under the 'Nokia' brand name. HMD mainly consists of previous Nokia Employees, laid off from Nokia during the acquisition of Nokia Mobile Business by Microsoft. Microsoft has sold the 'Nokia' brand mobile business to HMD Global. So basically you can saiy HMD is the current producer of Nokia branded mobiles.

Project treble is a google project aimed at making android modular, so as to make it easier to focus on only one module to make product specific modifications in future updates / versions of android. Whereas Nokia, Oneplus etc does not follow project treble. Nokia gives stock android, hence wouldn't require project treble for the current mobiles. Product specific Android update would be time consuming if not under Project Treble.

It's really surprising to me that Huawei, a company known for its terrible software support, is going to support the P10/+ and the Mate 9 with Treble. While manufacturers like OnePlus, Nokia, HTC(?) are not going to include Treble in their Oreo updates. Oh well, in 2018 every device will support Treble, so that's good.

As always you claim Nokia is Chinese and the people who actually know how to Google Nokia and HMD know They are a Finnish company. Mass manufactured phones in factories of Foxconn and FIH, same as IPhones. Designed in Finland by Finnish Engineers. Please do your research before having childish claims. Use Google and Wikipedia. Id dosen't really hurt to read. Try it once, you'll be amazed of the knowledge you could acquire.

It's simple if you think. Project treble is for OEM's who plan to Modify the software / have additional phone specific / brand specific features on the Phone. Whereas Nokia claims to provide only stock android. This saves time , money and glitches. So simply Nokia runs stock android, that is light and fast, faster to update.
