Chinese products are lower quality just because they do not test their devices properly taking ALL possible scenarios into account. That's why those devices sometimes lag, sometimes restart, sometimes have glitches, sometimes force close apps, are vulnerable to hacks, and generally have loads of bugs compared to more expensive brands where they actually test their devices against all possible scenarios.

Lawsuits and patent mess, this is the reason why this most exotic technology brand of todays is not entering america and europe. Yes mi pad look like apple. Apart from that, such a brand that meticulously cuts unnecessary expenses made by other brands to provide cutting edge technology for fraction of the price of big brands cannot sustain with such narrow minded laws.

Anonymous, 07 Dec 2017They took Israeli firms tech and didn't pay them... It's on here tooI'm guessing you're talking about the frivilous lawsuit from Corephotonics?
Their four "patents" are extremely broad umbrella patents, and won't ever hold up in court. It'd be similar to patenting "a structure with four or more cylinders attached". That could be a car, a skateboard, a shopping trolley. See the issue?
You can patent nearly anything you want. It just won't hold up in court if it's too broad.

I also find it rather damning that Corephotonics are claiming everyone that buys an iPhone are also infringing on their patents. They're just being money-desperate patent trolls at this point.

And at no point did Apple claim ownership of the word "pad". Stop being facetious. You can't pretend like MiPad doesn't look like iPad and could be mispronouned as My Pad. It's another rather blatant attempt by Xiaomi to use the Apple brand recognition to earn them profits.

Apparently apple have got spy drones everywhere, so when someone asks who's paying the bill and you say "I paid", you get slapped with a court order asking for royalties for using the copyrighted words as it sounds too much like iPad.

Lol so now apple has ownership of the word pad? Patents and trademark regulations becoming more and more juvenile each year. Pathetic.
