Linksys cisco have product named iPhone since 1998, and sued apple in 2007 when apple iphone launched. Apple had argued that no one was going to confuse the two iPhones. Booom

Pakistani1, 06 Dec 2017Xiaomi should sell their own brand rather than tricking people. The problem is that Xiaomi isn't trying to trick anyone. They're making use of the fact that the word "pad" is identified with tablets, as sort of a genericized trademark.

Just like what they did on a local phone brand here in the Philippines. They filed lawsuit against "MyPhone" for the same claims many years ago. They didn't seem to have moved on then.

Who cares, the tablet market is 6 feet under. Xiaomi isn't even manufacturing Pads anymore. The only ones buying tablets are iSheep. Either get a big screen phone if you want portable screen real estate or get an ultrabook if a phone limits you.

While I think the name should be changed. I also think these lawsuits are stupid AF. How many ways can you realistically change the way a rectangular tablet looks. Seriously Apple is getting even more petty.
