Hmm well, honestly speaking I was waiting/ hoping for the maximum effort, etc. (in other words, more) from Qualcomm for the SD845, considering the A11 Bionic, etc. But let's say that let's hope for the better, and that in real life it will be truly powerful, efficient and absolutely smooth even with the most graphics demanding games and everything else.

Ok, so better quality of service for calls, longer battery life and better camera/video mean nothing to you guys. Got it.

just a small update because they dont have comptetition . look at intel and how much they bumped specs with 8th gen and dropped prices of top models when amd introduced ryzen.

Here's the better question. Does it support DynamIQ? I'm freaking tired of big.LITTLE.

AnonD-708613, 07 Dec 2017the question is..can it win A11?Why still got people compared to A11. Dump or Whats? Everybody knows A11 higher score only proven running on iOS not on Android OS

SD only can compared with Exynos, Mediatek & Kirin cause they are running on same OS Android.. cheerss..

              ""25% performance uplift"
Well at least they try to keep it real, instead of showing some "amazing" graphs with ""10X better!!!"" or ""300% faster"" ads like some other companies(hellooo Apple!)

People compare Snapdragon 8 series to Apple A series.
It is not a fair comparison. Why?
                Because situations are different:

Qualcomm SoCs for any available OS in the market
                Vs.
                Apple SoCs specialized for iOS.

                Qualcomm is a Truck producer
                &
Apple is a exotic car producer

                Snapdragon 845 is like Volvo FH16 (750bhp)
                compared to
A11 bionic is like Koenigsegg Agera RS (1341bhp)

Apple (Agera RS) is 1.788 times more powerful than Qualcomm (FH16).
                So,
Can Agera RS lift a Tank with a flatbed trailer?
                The Answer is Absolute No!

Apple SoC is tailor cut SoC for 3 to five models of same platform.

Qualcomm SoC must have dynamic instructin sets to handle at least 500 models of 3 official and many unofficial platforms.

Finally, comparing raw power of two distinctly separated SoCs is neither safe nor valid comparison.

Snapdragon can be compared to Exynos, Kirin and Helio Series of MediaTek.

It's basically the same architecture as A73 but wider 3 ops per clock vs two ops per clock. It's the same as A72 regarding power consumption as A73 is also 3 ops per clock. It doesn't beat Apple's big cores (comes to some 70% of their performance) but then again you get 2x of them.

Cortex A75 cores have ~48% increased performance over A73, and A55 has ~18% increased performance over A53. All while using less power. Looks like the SD 845 will be a significant upgrade over the SD 835.

I'm really excited that essentially all the image processing that makes the Pixel cameras so good comes built into the SoC now. Flagship cameras of 2018 could potentially be on a whole new level!
