There was once a bug in Mediatek code, but Xiaomi can't fix it because they don't have access to the source! They don't open their platform as much as Qualcomm, so upgrades are difficult to do.

Major bug in ota through miui 9 on mi max. The update is not able to update miui 8 to miui 9. The phone just restarts nothing happens. Tried several times.

Where is miui 9 for Redmi note 4 (mediatek) It’s still on marshmallow and miui 8,where on another side Redmi note 4 (snapdragon) is on nougat and miui 9.If there is not update never buy mediatek version,cause u will never get update.

Anonymous, 07 Dec 2017we don't need MIUI 9, we need Oreo !Oreo would add nothing while this adds many features and performance improvements. Adding android versions next to miui versions is very misleading as you could consider Miui to be a very separate version of android.
