Actually, the import bam request is a normal procedure in lawsuit cases like this. Happens all the time in other cases.
My opinion is that Apple doesn't really need to rely on the outcome of this case but it's more for the future. Kind of a warning shot to Samsung, who will now have to be more careful not to copy the iPhone 5 and iPad 3.
Max Shawn, 09 Jul 2011Apple products are assembled in China. so Apple can't sue them when they make a replica of iPh... morechina's iphone replica is not a threat to apple.. and there's another reason that you've already said.. so it makes no sense for suing them.. and samsung galaxy II will make a profit while copying their design.. i understand for suing them.. but why, why ban the products?
Got my SGSII last tuesday and all I can say is wow!!! freaking awesome. Blazing fast and the screen unbelievable! Got a casing for it as well, so no more aesthetics issue for me that others complain about although im ok with how it is. So if this doesn't reach the US soil, wow you'd be missing a milestone in technology. hope they work it out. now back to downloading my new sgsII apps.
Maybe Iphone 5 or Iwhatever may it be is delayed because maybe again, samsung wont supply the necessary parts anymore to apple and therefore apple is looking somewhere else.
The galaxy s2 does not over heat
It is a perfect sexy phone
A friend who owns an iphone 4 is ashamed of his apple phone
On the thick expensive iphone the little screen is dark, it is very slow, the iphone 4 looks like an old generation phone compared to the galaxy s2
Apple products are assembled in China. so Apple can't sue them when they make a replica of iPhone 4. If Apple do sue, Apple won't have a factory in China to assemble their products.
Anyway, go ahead and ban Samsung's Galaxies line in US. US don't need Samsung's phones. Samsung have other countries support! Plus, I find all this Suing and banning are simply...well, Childish~ Yawnz~ =)
Sammy, 08 Jul 2011"requesting to stop the import of all flavors of the first generation Galaxy S phone - Ca... moreno no no, that means that Apple feels that they can splat samsung like a flea and looking how the problem between the 2 companies goes... with samsung retreating lawsuits and apple advancing with more lawsuits, it really feels that they can.
So when Samsung just tried the exact same thing to Apple, and when Nokia tried the same thing to iPhones, iPods, iMacs, Macbooks, Macbook Pros, and Macbook Airs, GSMArena visitors don't say a word. But when Apple does it, they're scared, losing, the worst company in the world, and what not.
Hypocritical... and typical.
do you blame apple if i made a product and copyrited it, and someone took my design i would sue them too.

Yes it's business, iPhone sold many millions and samsung wanted to do same so they copy the whole iPhone concept and released galaxy s. Now they suffer the consequences.
It's obviously that samsung used iPhone's reputation with galaxy s.
balthazar, 08 Jul 2011lol what did i do?? no sorry i guess i read what you said incorrectly.
Apple will never prevent Samsung to launch the Galaxy2 in the US...but this bad publicity might affect SG2 selles numbers to a certain extent in the US! These lawsuits will damage Samsung's reputation, because there is a segment of costumers who simply won't buy the products of a company just because it got bad publicity! Even if the outcome of the lawsuits will be a negociated settelement Samsung will lose more than Apple. All those allegations will make many people in US suspicious of Samsung! All these lawsuits are meant to discredit Samsung and make sure that when iphone 5 is launched Samsung's credibility in the US will be at low levels so apple can outsell the GS2. Unfair and dirty tactics ...but that's business...!
Sadly, Apple would be able to release anything and still sell the mast, they can drop the 3G and sell as much as the gridiron. When they realize that they need to start working to sell because people are beginning to realize that there are better options than Apple eg s2, sensation, etc. Instead of spending time on improving the product so true to its competitors.
This is getting absurd. These rich corporations are squabbling like a bunch of spoiled children in a sandbox.

balthazar, 08 Jul 2011dude, the guys already says he owned the phone.. i bet he knows already about that heat proble... moreI'll go on and on all I want. Know why? Because all of you do it too. The Galaxy S2 has been showing up in forums and blogs all over for overheating problems.
Anonymous, 08 Jul 2011Dude, there are 3.5 billion mobile users in the world. 80 million is not even one third of the... moreSeriously? Its not about how many phones you sell its how many you make vs how many you sell. This is basic economics. If you make like 40 different phones and sell 370 million phones during the year that's an average of only 9.25 million units per phone. Apple sold over 30 million for JUST the iPhone 4 - BY ITSELF! Making more models increases overhead and results in reducing profits.
Apple focused on a segment of users that already existed - smartphone users. But as a result saw a massive wave flock to the iPhone due to its innovative way of doing things.
And for everyone that wants to bash away at Apple for all of the REALLY DUMB reasons (they don't make many phones, etc etc etc)... Apple's iPhones ALL rank very high on the list of number of phones sold - of all time. AND they rank number ONE in customer satisfaction.
Keep that in mind as you bash away at them. Basically it means that for all of the negativity you all are presenting here - it must ONLY be all of you saying it.
