                  Separate app is the worst move. Separate app take more storage, RAM and even drain more battery.

                  Facebook, are you drunk?

                    Why though?

                    It'll kill the App
                    why would users wants to install separates app when previously the Main App will do the job just fine.

                    as for my experiences
                    - When Facebook force it's user to install 'Messenger' app to be able to send messages, I stop using facebook all together.
                    - Path (in my Country Path are very popular around 2014) and then when Path Decides it needs separate app for messaging then it forced us to install 'Talk', and again I stopped using Path altogether (on my knowledge the recently scrap Talk and re-integrated the messaging to main Path app, but the damages are done, no way to go back again)

                    and now Instagram follow it fellow failures.
                    let see how it goes.

                      By this way when snapchat, viber, skype and others remember we need a separate app to messaging and other to do video calls, and other to make audio calls...and other to record notes, and other to send gifs, other to send emoji's....BAAAAH! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

                      i dont use facebook because is useless need a second app to send messages when they can be built-in in the main app! BUT NO, you need one extra app not only to do that but to drain even more fast battery...so, THIS KIND OF THINGS NEED TO STOP! People who use them need to stop use them to theyr developers learn with the mistakes.

                      PEOPLE CHANGE THE APPS YOU USE AND GIVE A NO T DEVELOPERS WHO DO THIS KIND OF CR/\P.

                        F……k Facebook,whatsapp and f……k snapchat copies.
                        Using snapchat since 2014 and most of my friends abandoned it because instagram allowed same functionality. Now they will return.
                        Facebook is a greedy annoying thing. I have never used messenger on Android (use opera mini browser) and will never use this lame shenanigan

                          Really, what is ur intention Facebook? You got Messenger seperated, now instagram direct. You have THREE different chat platfotm. All featuring damn same feature. Thankfully, dont use facebook anymore, and reluctuntly open Instagram. Facebook is so yikes.

                            Why do they separate every single feature from their main apps? In 10 years, we'll have 150 messaging apps spun off from Instagram alone. Hopefully, I do not waste my precious time on such useless ways of communicating. I just wanted to express how the my gemeration is perhaps the most conceited generation of humanity.
