No 3,5 mm jack means you can't use any other headphones in the market unless it's wireless, and how about it's negative influence on the brain especially on audiophiles when they have it 10 hours a day over their ears and that means 10 hours of wireless noise on brain

UltimateZeroSeconds, 11 Dec 2017How about Sony MDR1000x? Is it amazing? http://www.trustedreviews.com/reviews/sony-mdr-1000xThere's an updated version of the MDR, called the WH-1000XM2. Almost all reviews state that this headphone is better than even the Bose QuietComfort 35 ii. But still Sony ships them with 3.5mm connectivity and an AUX cable for when needed. Sony knows the importance of wired audio

I'd only buy a phone with no headphone jack if the manufacturer includes a decent pair of Bluetooth headphones in the box

People mentioning Sony MDR100x, keep in mind the price. It might be a high quality headphone for a bluetooth headphone but Sennheiser HD650 retails for 315$ without any discount these days, Massdrop have these for 200$ if you are ready to wait, then there's HiFiman HE400i for 250$ normal price and 170$ on MD. So wired headphones are still valid and cost effective in terms of quality to dollar spent.

as long as bluetooth headphones still need charging then no.
not to mention the price to performance. the wasteful system that needs a DAC on each headphones themself instead of 1 good dac on phones/laptop/DAP. its just too far of a hassle. for me thats clearly regressive usage of technology

Just wanted to say the cable of my wired earbuds has saved my phone from numerous falls. So there's that too. Wouldn't be able to do that with wireless, obviously.

3.5 mm jack is still not die, but it will replaced if as long as it has the best audio that Dolby Atmos and it must also have a clearer & louder voice, headset or headphone may not needed in 5 years later.

Swapping out your headphone jack is similar to swapping your camera body - if you invested a ton into lenses, it will be a hard decision. Similarly with headphones - if you invested a lot into expensive headset with 3.5mm jack, it will be hard to give that up (quality headphones typically survive several phone generations). Especially considering your choices are either a dongle (which doesn't always provide good audio quality) or, well, buying new headphones! Most IEMs I know of don't have a USB-C or lightning jack option.

i have true wireless headphones and 3.5mm headphones. Im more inclined to using the 3.5mmH than wirelessH because of sound quality. Maybe 5 years from now it will match DAC-like systems on wirelessH but for now, NO. Also I currently use the LG G6 cause it provides me excellent audio experience. :)

Anonymous, 11 Dec 2017You don't use Sony high-end wireless headphones, it will blow you mind, it has superior audio ... moreLDAC just slightly better than APTX,..
But...
320 kbps mp3 or even FLAC on WIRED still better than those codec.

As I'm typing this I'm charging my phone WHILE having the headphones connected. If a phone doesn't allow me to do this, it's not a high-end flagship from my point of view and is not worth even checking it out. I wouldn't use one even if they gave it to me for free and pay me monthly!

Would have been useful/better if gsm could have bothered to point out the need to put phone in landscape to get the full voting options,I only found it because I was reading the comments,I hate using landscape mode,so have it turned off.
Well done gsm..
Me,I'm another one in the huge majority,I won't part with my cash for a device with no 3.5 Jack, have never believed the lame excuses given by anybody, and especially the one about more room for more battery !!

Iphone 6s has 3.5mm and still lighter and slimmer than 7 and 8. It's also cheaper on day one release too. So eliminate 3.5mm don't do any benefit to customizes at all.
