I do actually carry a power bank because of that, but that's exactly why i find it unacceptable to have to carry and plug even more cables and splitters.
Besides, why compromise? I will instead boycott companies for their anti-customer behavior and would only buy a phone without a 3.5mm jack if i don't have a choice (Like i don't have a choice with non-removable batteries. However, i haven't forgotten that and i never buy expensive phones because of non-removable batteries. To me the point of buying an ultra expensive phone is so that you can use it longer, just like people do with computers. Non-removable batteries make that not a very realistic option).

Anonymous, 10 Dec 2017Why dont Apple and Samsung bring high quality audio? Because they dont wanna copy Dolby Atmos from lenovo and THX certified speakers from Razer
AnonD-692822, 10 Dec 2017Where is the option for yes. Cause 99% of folks use the 3.5mm jack.I am glad i am that 1% and as we were forced to use nonremovable batteries curved screens micro usb now usb c we are forced again this time for good case.

We were forced to use non removable batteries we were forced to use micro usb cables we were forced in case of Samsung to use that curved slippery screen where to screen protector can be put along with a phone case. Because phone case will push off screen protector.
And we will likely be forced again to have no jack.
Its a margin space that can be used for other phone tech which is more important like camera or battery etc.

Not to mention that there is no such thing right now like ""Long battery live"" not only in phones but also in BT headphones, that when you actually listen to music last maybe day, max two.
The same with Quick Charging. You do realize that QC actually reduce your battery quality by small margin every time you use it, especially in smaller devices like BT headphones that even more expensive models dont have really good batteries and protection. Just after year, typical device that use only QC hold almost 15-20% less power. Normal device would lost such amount after 2-3 years.
People dont get it because none of sites do such long term test, but go ask any person who used only QC for past years and you will see that such charging method is fast, but it also hit battery quality really fast.
Anonymous, 10 Dec 2017Of course, lol, and will continue to do so for a long timeWhere if future phones will dont have it???
Do you still use a 3.5mm audio jack?
Me:I'm afraid so
Convenience cannot beat quality. 3.5mm all the way.
I use mi a1, i have usb type c for charging and 3.5mm for audio out, great?
Worst decision is to remove 3.5mm. Best volume quality through headset only achieved with 3.5mm and no need to worry about charging or be scared what your wireless headphones dies if you use wireless ones. And avoid people with dongles. Cause their stupid or don't have a clue what are they doing
What do you think about micro HDMI output & headphones/earphones with micro HDMI plug!? It's good or bad idea!? It's possible or impossible!??
I don't use my phone for listening to music. I use the EarPods of my old iPhone for the Mac, and pair them to the new iPhone with a dongle, which really isn't often. If I have to listen a short audio or something, i hold the phone to my ear. If I listened to music, I would use the Lightning-headphones, which makes almost no difference from using ones with 3.5mm jack.
yes definitely with neutron music player on note 5 or v20, Flac and wav files flowing through audio technica m50x, m40x,beyerdynamic dt770, sennheiser hd 598 se. no aptX and marketing terms like "better-than-CD" quality is going to catch wired audio. i know one day it will be gone but as long it is there i am definitely using it. however if you enjoy wireless audio and don't crave for quality then that is absolutely fine. to each his own.
