And tbh if he is short on money, S8 is also a better option than Xiaomi... quality of built and features... not just chip like Xiaomi does.
Also no security breaches and pre installed spyware like with Xiaomi and other Chinese phones...

I can pretty much conclude SE 8.1 VS MiUi 9.0 though.
SE 8.1 Over MiUi 9.0
Youth inspired appearance, unique gestures, lively appearance.
Costumisable font. (WITH NO NEED for Rooting/APK!)
Ability to hide apps in the app drawer.
impressively ample notification center. (basically the ability to add bars like the samsung connect, quick connect, etc.)
very clean and intuitive camera app.
GORGEOUS music player! (albeit annoying if you have edge display. -_-)
MiUi 9.0 over SE 8.1:
Clean, Easy-to-understand interface.
very informative status bar.
natural gestures.
beautifully designed notification panel. (albeit annoying if you want it minimised but not hidden in appearance)
wide (AND I MEAN WIDE) selection of camera modes. skilfully built UI.
Music player is intuitive, gets the job done and does not try to impress in any way. elegant and pure.
All in all scores:
SE 8.1: 8.2/10 Imo.
MiUi 9.0: 8.3/10 Imo.
as you can see the difference is margin one percent.

Astonishing phone. Will have all the fetures off Apple 8, but no wireless charging no missing headphone jack and includes bezeless screen design at less then 1/2 the price.

Far123, 12 Dec 2017yes but i think samsung A8+ will have OIS + IP68/67 and SD 845 is the same nm but with LPP so ... more845 is flagship. and A series of samsung is NEAR flagship. ^^' you cannot use it on A series. unless you're making the S ones more powerful than A with the same chipset.

Well, losing the bixby button is definitely a positive, it would be great to see this carry over to the S9’s & Note9, along with a centered and lowered FPS, instead of the idiotic position it now occupies.

Great phone except chip set but rest assure you can buy a one plus phone in the cost with which this smartphone is going to launch
