Google should be held accountable for intentionally creating a platform of majority that is extremely susceptible to lack of security patching.
The Pixel is not even available in many markets.

The way fanboys are defending Google is mind boggling. To the contrary, people should hold Google to a higher standard since their mobile platform is the majority of market share.

AnonD-696124, 13 Dec 2017i feel ashamed having a oneplus 5T. It's an awesome device but these updates... -.-My S7Edge is still on October 2017.
    What are we talking about?
There are tons of flagships out there receiving security updates after 3+ months or not at all so why are we pointing our finger only towards OnePlus?

Having Xperia XZ with Oreo on board incl. Dec security patches, I can only admire Sony's finally found dedication to timely updates (at least to their flagships).

October security patch in December (and even missed the KRACK fix that was put on November's).
And Google still doesn't take security on Android seriously.

Imagine a Windows laptop unable to get Microsoft's security patches by more than a month. There will be lawsuits.

Looks like they just didn't want to put in the work for project treble?

So much for the stock Android.

I don't get. They have like 3 devices and yet, security updates are as slow as fk. They even canned Project Treble on the 5T.

Please, no one should quote me with that dumb excuse as to why it 5T cannot support it. Oreo was unveiled in March, released in August. Pixel 2 was released in October. Sony XZ1 was released in August. 5T was released in November. Thus Oneplus had enough time to explore and make modifications for the 5T before its release.
The 5T is no different from the 5. Total waste of advertisement money and other resources. Heck, most people were prepared to wait given how awesome Oneplus 5 is.
