Anonymous, 15 Dec 2017Dude, it's missing part of its screen. Nothing beautiful about that .Of course it is subjective. Thats the reason some people love wearing red pants & yellow sneakers. I loved the design & build quality + screen-body ratio was amazing, perfect for android users (bottom chin for support & ease of access for the soft keys). I'd totally buy it, even with all those camera controversies, but the display killed it for me. Display is the reason I switched from Pixel 2 XL to Pixel 2.

This THE BEST LOOKING & FEELING phone I've ever held (comparing with Note 8, iPhone X & other phones). It is smaller than Pixel 2 with 0.7" more screen!!! That is amazing!!! I wish they used an OLED display, even the crappy LG P-OLED, I'd buy it over Pixel 2.

Essential phone's design and build looks very beautiful, but its lack of features and having a notch keep me away from it.

Loving my PH-1. Double tap to wake would be very useful.
I hope they have enough success to release their next phone world wide (had to import mine). I also hope they don't change the size/aspect of the phone too much. It's near perfect for me and no other phone comes close in this regard.

The best grade aluminium ( higher than 7000 serie btw ) has a hardness of 2.9 the 7000 serie is about 2.5. ( hardness tell you at what point a metal can be scratched and give a good idea of its strenght for bending as well *try to bend a diamond* )
The cheapest Titanium ( yep its the one used in the Essential ) is 6.0 hardness and the best grade is at 9 lol.
Its MUCH stronger than your feble Aluminium.

Its slower than essential at everything.
G6 camera is very grainy its horrible my G5 had better result.
its battery is inferior.
its has only 32 gb of onboard memory ( i am a big gamers and need at least 64 gb )
Its build quality is okay but its wont hold out as long as essential and will be more prone to breaking.

the phone is almost twice faster.
Better battery life.
Much more solid for drop.
smaller footprint for same size screen.
Clean android and faster update.
Cost much less.
So no LG G6 is not better..
I had the G6 and switched to essential and i am not looking back.

Why not titanium? Because as any fool knows 7000 series aluminium is stronger and easier to machine. Titanium is only really superior at high temperatures where the heat treatment of aluminium or steel fails. And as the insides of phones don't work over about 40C and become quite hazardous at 70C, a metal that only has advantages above 150C makes no sense at all other than for empty boasting. That's why Apple dropped titanium from the Powerbooks.

Martin, 14 Dec 2017People buy LG G6, G6 is better than Essential.LG has been around for a while now, and while I love LG and I'm glad they're finally getting the recognition they deserve I believe in Essential and its nice to see a phone company that's not just doing the same thing. Making their phones open and the G6 is a great phone but I'm taking the risk of getting a start-up company's first phone and so far I'm loving it. Sure they have their bugs every phone does but with how they're rolling out these updates...you're gonna see this phone improve immensely and I believe this is just the beginning of Essential and that there are great things in store for a company that's willing to push the boundaries a little bit.

BUT, with the frequent updates, ironing out the bugs, the I have hope the Essential Phone will be great. I'm keeping the phone for it's potential...that and I love the design and build quality.

I updated my lenovo zuk z2 on android 7.1.2 nougat with a custom rom and the experience is amazing!!! I realy like the essential phone and the software updates that it got like portrait mode and other. I just think the price is big, thats why it did not succed in sales!!! Too bad!!! Waiting for the succesor with a better price!!!
