That twitter post is asking when Redmi Note 5 will be available in India. There might be a possibility that Xiaomi just rebrand Redmi 5 Plus as Redmi Note 5 for India market. Just like how they rebrand Redmi Note 5A as Redmi Y1 for India market.

well i will take your suggestion and wait til end of january, if its not turning out by then, i think i will be happy with honor phone instead.

with this information, then at least i know that super moderator on miui forum is definitely mistaken or just simply assumed things for his own popularity purpose, or he is just invalid, i hope his moderator title will be temporarily banned for voicing a false fact to public without any base. since it is considered a crime for RN fans XD

According to Mi Twiiter RN5 is coming!
Qwerty, 24 Dec 2017625 is more power efficient and better than 650... 650 only provide little bit more performance You say SD650 provide little bit performance then the SD625, you're dead wrong. At the CPU level,SD625 8 core of ARM Cortex A53 clock speed 2.0ghz cannot match the power of 2 core of ARM Cortex A72 clock speed 1.8ghz SD650. On the GPU too the SD625 with Adreno 506 is inferior to the Adreno 510 of SD650 especially on the graphic performance.
Qwerty, 24 Dec 2017625 is more power efficient and better than 650... 650 only provide little bit more performance a bit more?! with 4000 Fn mAh battery how what you need is performance not efficiency
Aese, 22 Dec 2017Why SD 625, mine is Redmi note 3 with SD 650..... Why xiaomi .... Why....625 is more power efficient and better than 650... 650 only provide little bit more performance
Tules911, 23 Dec 2017A retailer confirmed me that RN5 is definitely coming .... That Miui Mod don't know sh*t.how sure are you about this? how come the retailer already has the information when xiaomi havent make any announcement whatsoever.
Does your source proven to be legitimate or at least trusted. cause i was saving for RN5 and after this rumor spreading around, i am no longer waiting for xiaomi and i was decided to buy other cell phone brand this week, which is honor.
if what you're telling is true i might hold just a bit longer on upgrading my phone, if its just another rumor, i might as well buy other brand rather than waiting in a fog for xiaomi uncertainty
I bought a few Xiaomi products recently and I was impressed with the quality! I was waiting for the RN5 to come out with a SD630/636 and dual cameras for $250-270 for the 4gb/64gb model. But this is BAD NEWS!
Now I'm looking at the "360 N6 PRO" with 4Gb Ram & 64Gb Rom for about $260-280! And you get a Snapdragon SD660 to boot! I think Xiaomi made a HUGE MISTAKE not upgrading to the SD630-636. I was willing to pay more for this SOC and Xiaomi options/quality! For a new phone, the MI Note 3 has old style/screen which doesn't interest me. If Xiaomi can't give me a better mid-range phone at a reasonable price, they will lose my business and many more customers future orders also. 360 N6 PRO just came out and is only available in top-line specs now, but is looking GREAT as soon as I see the lower Ram/Rom model for a cheaper price! Comparing N6 PRO to the R5 Plus, PRO has:
Better F&R cameras, better SOC, better Ram/Rom options, 66% better performance, better frequency bands, compass sensor, f2.0 Samsung ISOCELL 16MP sensor, Digital IS
Same/Similar big battery, screen size, size and weight
R5 Plus has a Infared Transmitter, NFC advantage, LED notification light, better Quality?, a lower Price.
Maybe the 360 N6 is the new RN5, and the N6 Pro is a step up, but the lack of NFC is bad! I was hoping Xiaomi could give me the Note 5, with slightly better specs over the RN4 for the a slightly higher price! To BAD! Maybe a basic Honor V10 might also be a pricer option too?
10.g Amazon or honer 7x both are better in specifications and price
A retailer confirmed me that RN5 is definitely coming .... That Miui Mod don't know sh*t.
Jordaen, 22 Dec 2017This is a bad bad move. Goodbye Xiaomi I will look elsewhere.yes exactly, bye xiaomi!
if you think that spreading a rumour or actually stopping the redmi note production will boost your other midrange crap phone, you're definitely wrong.
I saw many mi fans altered their mind to other brand just because of this rumour, they were waiting for a year to taste the new so long waited redmi note 5 and now they were ran off to your head to head competitor like huawei and oppo, of whom play quite well on midranger.
And as for me, i dont see any other reason to stay being a fans of your brand, honestly speaking, your flagship is too expensive for my pocket and your other lowend just too crappy, the only reasonable phone you made was redmi note, good price and good performance, and now you cut down the redmi note line, i believe other fans agree with me that you might as well going downhill starting from here without the redmi note on your side anymore
what a disappointing decision ,2018 still use SD625 lately xiaomi is not catchy anymore
I think this is a good move, because people used to get confused between "Mi Note" and "Redmi Note".
Anyways, what's in a name? Redmi 5 Plus is also a renovated Note 4, isn't it?
But what's with their craze for Snapdragon 625, have they bulk purchased a million units of them?
