Chump, 24 Dec 2017Nokia had a screen that you could use with normal gloves, that's a shame it went away. Samsung... moreSince Z3 Sony offers glove mode. Increases screen sensibility.
Asus has it too.
Unfortunately before the end of 2018 the will be only one OEM that will offer the 16:9 screen.
This 18:9 is a way to offer less screen.
If a phone has a 5.5, just put up a 5.7 and cut 3mm from each bezel. No need to bring these TV ctrl shaped phones.
S8 has 1mm less than S7 Edge. The screen area is not that different. And there is the space used by virtual buttons.
S8 has 3000mAh, while S7 Edge has 3600mAh.
I have always heard Note 7 was very confortable to use, better than S7e. Sammy could have used same screen with shorter bezels. Phone would be shorter than N7.
Luxor, 24 Dec 2017The stupid notch will definitely died off. Put that in the list."definetly died" are you serious. This is about features of the past. The notch is not a feature not is it a thing of the past. But I know, Fandroids have to hate, as always, even on Christmas day.
Luxor, 24 Dec 2017The stupid notch will definitely died off. Put that in the list.Dont think so
Fire function using battery is dying off. Culprit - note7. You could create fire in wild using that function, as last resort.
Padfone ... had one of those - (Padfone 2). Great concept, but not really good execution. Software is crap, updates stopped soon after release (PF2 was never intended to get even 1 new version of Android, but us owners somehow managed to pressure ASUS into releasing KitKat for it). System stability wasn't perfect and there was pretty much no community development (complex software, very niche device) so we were stuck with a quite bad stock ROM.
Mine died after about 3 years. Managed to resurrect it (had to open it and physically remove "unremovable" battery as it did not react to 30sec button presses or anything), now it's a backup tablet somewhere.
Have good old Nokia N85 still working fine..
Chump, 24 Dec 2017Nokia had a screen that you could use with normal gloves, that's a shame it went away. Samsung... moreThere's still a similar feature like glove mode in some phone
Luxor, 24 Dec 2017The stupid notch will definitely died off. Put that in the list.Once it actually dies off, yeah, I think it should DEFINITELY be added to this list. The other features at least tried to do something, but the notch is just vacuous through and through.
Nokia N8 and 808 not only have xenon flash and ND filter, they also have FM transmitter and HDMI out AND RCA video out through the 3.5mm jack.. The very definition of everything but the kitchen sink.. Back then the so-called ancient 3.5mm jack served multiple duties not unlike usb of today.. Lets count - they were used as analog stereo output, microphone in, volume control, call answer key, RCA video out, FM antenna cum mini stylus, and even selfie flash.. 3.5mm jack is smarter than it looks.. On the other hand this article failed to mention IrDA which enabled Infra red data transfer, transform the phone into a modem for laptops, and use the phone as a universal Infra red remote control(Psiloc remote control anyone? :P
Luxor, 24 Dec 2017The stupid notch will definitely died off. Put that in the list. Not sure about this. Phones get more and more crippled and idiotic, so mostly good features die off, while everything idiotic is adopted and forced on us without much hesitation.
Stupid led flash.
And why the change of tone? Last time you said that the ship for removable batteries sailed away.
Did I miss an Earth shattering event or something?
:P

Nokia had a screen that you could use with normal gloves, that's a shame it went away. Samsung emulated it and then dropped that feature too.
Anonymous, 24 Dec 2017did you forget the Motorola laptop dock.No. The PadFones came after the Moto Atrix and are similar enough (we listed only the last phones to sport a feature).
