There is much more going on under the hood and in all aspects of the entire SoC then people want to give credit.
And its not like every generation can always bring super massive improvements.
And there has been more work into efficiency and less throttling rather than just raw power boosts that throttle down fast in these generations.

Point is, don't be surprised when 7nm came and it doesn't give you that much of an improvement

The SD845 will be just a slight upgrade, call it a overclock smh.
Once Snapdragon produces a 7nm SOC, that will be quite interesting.

Btw these guys need to innovate big now. Its been ages since they moved to multi-cores.
Holly hell, technology & samsung are advancing so fast who knows what will come tomorrow or after tomorrow even. The technology is boooooming, chips are extremely tiny and fast, who knows what will happen. Ryzen looks promising on desktop, and forced Intel to bump up the core count. I'm hoping some APU competition from AMD in the form of upcoming mobile zen based chips will force Intel to reconsider their market strategy.
3600 Mbits per pin??? Something isn't right with these specs GSMArena.
Maybe you meant per chip?
Are these numbers based on JEDEC standard? Or is this the peak memory speed?
If JEDEC, then we might just see a DDR4 5000 unit fairly soon, otherwise, if this is a peak speed, then not all that impressive.
More good work from Samsung!
Can't wait to see what they bring up in the future.
So Isn't 8Gb just 1GB? I think you can fit 32 of these on a double sided stick of Desktop Ram. DDR5 is coming 2021ish and with Intel Optane trying to take the place of Memory all together I wonder how the next 3 years will pan out. I'm excited :)
This is great to hear. Looking forward to 2018 and hoping that the notebook market finally gets its sh*t together, especially intel as the main manufacturer of SoCs who still doesn't provide LPDDR4 support and prices their processor very high.
