Anonymous, 29 Dec 2017Well Samsung phones will naturally start slowing down after a few months anyway and LG phones ... moreI'm sorry but I still have Samsung galaxy s5 and it never slowed down and no lag whatsoever. I had an iPhone before for a year before galaxy s5 and S5 is a way better phone because apple phones don't multi task

AnonD-727142, 29 Dec 2017If an LG device has a problem they fail to admit and remedy it. It just so simple. It's the same as the apple. Only when the public sounds an alarm does the producer of fallen fruit see himself forced to admit something. These are the facts of the last 10 years.

s4f786, 29 Dec 2017Mentioning android phones slowing down does not put them in the same level of apple, android p... moreThat's a good example of why the updates are unnecessary.

People should keep the original / stock OS on their phones and never update. Because the phones are meant to run on the OS that they get launched with.

Carry on sheep defending a decision to slow your phones down by slagging off Android phones.....that DONT slow down. HaHA losers!!
Serious are you prepared to pay over a grand today for an iphone x to know an update will come in the future to slow it down. You all need to waken up and punish Apple for doing this by buying something else.
if it slows your phone down shouldnt it be called a downdate not an update. The least apple could do would be to pre-warn when their going to cripple your phone.

Mentioning android phones slowing down does not put them in the same level of apple, android phones don't slow down because the software is purposefully designed to slow a phone down, yes over some time some android versions don't run aswell on older hardware and that's down to the fractured nature of the OS.

.alpha, 29 Dec 2017Great comments from the companies that brought you exploding battery and boot loops. That's qu... moreYeah don't get me wrong both of these things did happen I'm not an Apple fan who if this happened to the phones would say they do this to make my phone better. But guess what LG and Samsung didn't charge there customers to fix these problems as they realised it was there fault. But after apple admitting it was there fault only give Apple users a discount on getting the battery changed, so you still have to pay for something that they caused. Like WTF.

And for them to slow down your phone because of the battery and not tell you this and there for convincing there customers that they need a new phone or stick with something that won't run anymore.

.alpha, 29 Dec 2017Great comments from the companies that brought you exploding battery and boot loops. That's qu... moreYou are comparing different things here. Apple did this on purpose but didn't tell anyone because were hoping that people will buy new phones, since no-one knew that it's a battery issue. And in a same time they were proud that they can upgrade 3 years old models with latest software but never mentioned what upgrade can mean to users. That's cheating...

The headline is wrong. Samsung didn't write that it doesn't slow down old phones. Samsung wrote that it doesn't slow down the CPU performance through software updates(!). So possibly Samsung reduces the CPU performance without any software updates.
