Got it in the morning via notification that Oreo update is available it took around 15 minutes to download and install ,looks smooth ,but no new wallpapers ,only annoying thing is there is persistent notification of sim1 is capable of HD in the notifications which doesn't go away

Nope, still no sign of Oreo update notification on my MiA1 despite manually check.

Maybe you should now update OS information on your Mi A1 page (https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_a1-8776.php) with Android 8.0.0 Oreo.
