irvinehooi, 16 Jul 2011Yeah it's good to hear that Samsung is no longer manufacturer / supply the parts for Apple iph... moreWorld does not end with samsung. You are a fool to believe that apple or iphone will end if samsung does not supply them parts. Apple will remain without samsung as will iphone. Before that samsung will end

Apple is trying to involve Samsung in the law suits simple to delay the launch of the Galaxy S2. And NOW they themselves TOO have to delay their own product launch. Oh.....what's the FACTS.....:D :D

NOTE: Gingerbread 2.3.4 solved the heating issue on Galaxy S2 and the phone even faster than in version 2.3.3 Imagine Galaxy S2 now even ahead to it competitor, iphone has no match !!!.

Thanks.

I won't buy any Apple product anymore, because Apple is so greedy and playing the competition very unfairly. To sue everybody is their strategy.

I'm not sure what to make up for this because all I can think of is 2 graphics processing unit working together in the SoC, thus I say it's a dual GPU solution. Care to explain otherwise?

Having a dual-core CPU and 2 GPUs work together in one chip... Using a 45 nm technology to manufacture the SoC. Hell, that phone's hot gonna enough to leave a burn mark on somebody's hand unless a firmware is rolled out!

Anonymous, 16 Jul 2011Its quite funny how all you Fandroids are slamming Apple for something is clearly listed here ... moreRight now I can only see 2 conclusion from this. It's either Apple delays it's release for the time being or having a lower battery life and/or lower screen resolution to make up for the ''dual-core in lighter casing'' part.

Without that image I'm pretty sure Apple's market share will be lower than Android not only in the US but worldwide.

Tom-Helge, 15 Jul 2011Say whatever you like, but i do own the Galaxy S II and it doesn't get to hot while using it n... moreSay what you want... Tom. But fact remains - Samsung released a phone that in the hands of many users has been overheating. Apple hasn't released the new iPhone yet... so how is this a problem that the A5 SUPPOSEDLY is causing overheating problems? Its not out yet. If they release it and the problem is still there THEN you can pick on it. The phone is currently still in development.

Its quite funny how all you Fandroids are slamming Apple for something is clearly listed here as RUMOR and THEORY. Add to that the simple idea that this product is NOT released yet. How many other phones go through stages of development where not everything is working properly? How many phones have chips in the that overheat before AND AFTER they are released? How many PRODUCTS take years to develop due to eliminating problems? Pretty much ALL OF THEM! IF this rumor is true - I see it as a good thing that they are delaying the iPhone's release, rather than just bringing it out and suffer the wrath of the industry and critics. Rumor has it they are trying to make the new iPhone even thinner... which would make it one of the slimmest phones on the market. Not an easy task putting a dual core processor into a slim space without suffering heating problems. Other new phones are also suffering similar problems. This is not the end of the world, nor is it the end of the iPhone, OR Apple.

Apple needs to step up their game. Unless they've got a 14 nm CPU right now, this ''smaller and lighter'' iPhone is gonna bite Apple back in the ass. When it comes to technology, aesthetics over performance and functionality is laughable. And finally, this overheating issue with Apple is getting ridiculous. First the Macbook Pro and now the upcoming iPhone? Apple has either 2 choice now, become the next Microsoft in the mobile bussiness or back down and play it safe.

AnonD-7191, 16 Jul 2011why need to argue on cpu heat issue as we all know since day 1 of microproccesor being invent ... moreActually it is about a Apple's A5 SoC (System-on-a-chip) and it contains not only CPU inside. That's mean SoC heat is produced NOT ONLY by CPU (of course it is mostly, but not only). Also heat level depends not only on clock speed of CPU, it also depends on architecture of CPU. Also we can't forget about a casing.

So, heat can be generated drop by drop not only by CPU, remember that we are talking about a whole SoC not only about CPU.
