What a ludicrous poll! Best phone in comparison to what...the other phone they bought at the same time? People vary rarely possess two of the latest phones at the same time, so how are they going to compare between different models? They are only going to say the phone they have right now is, in their opinion, the best, and yet they have nothing to compare it to.
'Best', too, is rather a broad term to use. Best at what? They're all capable of making calls, sending texts, taking photos, and surfing the internet...so 'best' at what?
I recently checked out the galaxy note 8, and thought the operating system was terrible. It has minimal customisation. I don't know if that operating system is a result of the latest android version, or if it's Samsung's design, but I thought it was very poor, and for a price of nearly a thousand pounds, I was expecting an all singing, all dancing masterpiece of customisation settings and facilities, but I was hugely surprised at how little you could actually do with it. Needless to say, I passed it over and now waiting for new offerings on the horizon from other manufacturers. I'd love to know what people think makes their phone the 'best'.

Anonymous, 02 Jan 2018They didn't put any Sony Xperia phone, I think that is unacceptable. Yeah... Seems indolence is everywhere and marketing is lame!

I don't see your point of comparing drops. A V30 will eventually break. If you want durability, always place a case or at least a protective bumper like Rhinoshield Crashguard.
Anonymous, 02 Jan 2018Look at the first 3 phones, they are all with headphone jacks I think that should tell us somethingThat's spot on observation :), may be gsmarena should send these results to Apple and Google....

I have Note 8. This seems to me the most valuable mobile for the money (in my place this is almost 30%-40% cheaper than iPhone X 256 - just for a comparison)! Feeling slightly lighter than typical iPhone Plus models. With the Clear View Case, you may enhance its look and feel.TONS and TONS of features that we may not able to use it at all (no fault of Samsung). Highest Quality AMOLED Display in the planet. Biggest screen in the contemporary flagship market. Flexibility in Dual SIM vs Memory Card expansion (I have put 128 GB card). My older samsung wireless charger perfectly working fine with this. Industry standard USB - C type charger. S Pen...Good / Excellent Camera.6 GB RAM! Software able to handle things smoothly. Dual WhatsApp and Facebook options integrated at the OS Level. Way to Go Samsung!
I do prefer the note 8 to the v30. but im sure we can all agree that the Huawei mate 10/mate 10 pro did not belong lower on the list than the iPhone x!!
Spec-wise? Easy win for V30
How about the Note 8 fingerprint positioning? :D
Or the recent 0% battery problem. :DDDDDD

V30 scored better.

The V30 was actually ahead of the Note 8 a few days later until GSM took the votes down althought not sure why. The Note 8's votes all came from a Vodafone Mini Store.
I loved my Note 7 and kept it even when batteries were exploding. Why? Because it was a damn good phone. The V30 is an amazing phone. Period. No one gives a damn about front cameras unless your a school girl or on Instagram. The Note 8 has a better screen but it's not in a different tier to the V30, it's just bigger.
Plus who watches their phone/shares their phone because of the viewing angles? I can't even notice the blue hue! So many moot arguments, it's not even funny. Let's talk about the elongated shape of the Note 8 though and how many people I've seen with cracked screens because the phone is both comical to hold and look at?
I don't give a damn about bootloops in the past, not one person has reported the V30 bootlooping. Lastly all the people crying you didn't get the V30 earlier, that's not grounds for disliking a phone. Hate the company, but the V30 with its stellar Quad DAC that's on par with mid/high end DAPs, sturdy military grade build proven in drop tests, amazing manual camera mode and useful wide angle lens (review using only auto mode is a joke!) and everything a 2017 flagshop should have is simply one of the, if not best options right now.
Competition in the industry ultimately leads to more benefits for the consumer via lower phone prices and better tech. I don't care about who makes the phone, just give me a damn good phone.
Everyone know Note 8 are the best
Note 8 or Samsung in general just have so much fun Base. If it comes to specs and value over money, I'll take Huawei mate 10/pro or lg v30
There is really so much to say about the Note 8, V30 & all the other different placements/ positions, but to make it as short as possible, well done to the Note 8.
