Finally got Official 2.3.4 Android for Galaxy S2.
I updated KIES to 2.1.0.11095_121 and then had to download the firmware update. Had some issues in downloading the update (KIES still rather unstable) but all is now OK.
Seem to have a few more options in the setting (for example there are more options to update via WIFI, an auto update...)
We can only hope that some of the issues that I had been having (heating) are solved.

I flashed both XXJVQ and XXJVP. Happy with XXJVP with lagfix enabled. So far no problems from last one month.
I changed my launcher to ADW ex.
Awesome. Butter smooth!!!!

Anonymous, 19 Jul 2011This is the JVP release. There is a even newer one called JVQ which has a build date from June... moreI tried the JVQ release but it crashed constantly, with almost every aspect of the OS force closing. Reverted to JVP and happy so far :-)

I have a Samsung Galaxy S from Orange. It had a bit of lag due to RAM issues. When the froyo update came, the performance improved considerably. Last month, I updated it to 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) which to my annoyance is causing lags and crashes. Very disappointing.

please i want to buy the samsung galaxy ace which would be my first android phone (i have been using symbian s60v3 phone since),i just hate the operating system,all the phones are slow(not much of ram available) no update at

Samsung and LG are waaaayyyy behind updates. That is a major problem with these companies as they almost never give you dates on time if at all.
I have nexus one and get updates as soon as they come. Unless you have a Nexus line of phone your out of luck.

Been running the 'leaked' 2.3.4 for some time now, and it has worked very well for a release that, to all intents and purposes, is a beta version.
The only problem I have is that, occasionally, the browser just shuts itself down without any warning whatsoever. Hopefully this will be fixed in the final release :-)

why to wait for the update when it is already available on samfirmware.com. but do it carefully, if not u will brick your phone. read carefully before you proceed. do it on your own risk.
