Apple have an ARM ”architecture license” which let them design there own core from the ground up using ARMs ISA (instructuction set). That said, their design is still affected.

Anyways, its a design flaw, and I shall not have to sacrifice any milligram of performance because of Intel's dumb engineers (or engineer, since there is not much performance diffrence between Haswell and Coffe Lake, all is done is a die shrink and overclock, which anyone can do, or almost)

There are a lot of benchmarks now that shows negligible (or error margin even) difference in common usage (excel sheets, browsing, gaming) except on 4k read. So, unless your work is based around in a lot of I/O querys, you wont see a difference.

Just look at the ARM list: all the affected models are Out of Order designs.

Its not necessary to be an ARM core, and thats why the AX from Apple were affected too.

you don't pay attn, 05 Jan 2018you want to choose? yet you go with apple? Are you crazy? i use iphone to test them out a few weeks when they come out ( i work in cellphone industry for a carrier at business level )

All i ment by my comment is Apple should give option to choose like all the others chip maker.

If i dont do anything that need big security on my device i want to keep my speed.

Same with that features they implimented in iOS that reduce cpu speed that so shaddy tactics.
