If Nokia did become the exclusive WP7 handset, any ideas what extras would come with it?
Lets not be biased here. I did not discriminate Nokia in any way. Its just amusing to see a recently founded mobile company such as HTC make it to the top so easily. I have to agree that most HTC's phone are similar, but never identical. But remember, if it wasn't for HTC Windows wouldn't be where it is now. And now that Windows gave full authority to a slowly phasing out company rather than focusing a rapidly improving company (HTC). If Nokia had such a great and stable OS they wouldn't have more than one OS. They have no idea what they are trying to achieve.
By the way, it seems everybody has forgotten that nokia was working against the clock with searay. The goal was just to get a WP device in the market before the end of 2011. The flood was promised for 2012
AnonD-5197, 20 Jul 2011Do you honestly think that MS cares about Nokia enough to give them unfair advantage over HTC ... moreperhaps you need to familiarize ur self with the arrangement.
Unlike other manufacturere who just pay to use the os, Nokia is a contributor. Nokia maps would power bing maps on WP and nokias numerous operator partnerships would power the windows app store. They are nbot being given any unfair advantage. They are already advantaged and they're making use of it.
At present, its both in nokias and microsofts favor if other OEMs suceed with WP. When the os gains some respectable ground, then the internal competition becomes worrisome for nokia.

I do admit that android is a Well built and designed operating system and it does target the younger generation but for someone like myself and many more your so called customization doesn't appeal to us in any way. We want reliable phones for our desired needs. For example I use my navigation nearly every week more than twice, I use the browser but my usage is very limit to do basic things nothing major and this is why I'm happy with my N8's browser, does lag sometimes but same as every other phone. What most people like is simplicity this why iphone was a major hit, not everyone downloads apps they like the simple user interface, and this is exactly what windows is trying to do and i gotta admit it does look boring yet very neat. And I'm considering giving it a try. Also looking forward to the N9. As for it being the same design you should look at HTC and then come back and tell me what you think of their phones. :)
Nokia should design the hardware like C7 with 4 inch screen instead of the rectangular shape like N9
[deleted post]HAY do u even know how many people are waiting for N9 how N8 got sold yet nokia sold only 5800 XM more then all apple model
Eldork is biased, all his Nokia rumors are incorrect these days.

MS is having trouble gaining grounds in the mobile industry. They need to play together with HTC and Samsung for distribution of WP7. With Nokia losing market share daily, putting all eggs in Nokia basket is a too big of a risk for MS.
Goodbye Nokia, nice knowing you (years ago!).
well.. the n9 design was pretty well recieved so why wouldn't they make a WP7 version... wondering if it has the same hardware as n9.. maybe a dualboot wp7/meego would be possible.. :)
It is clearly evident that today's generation is more into customization more than anything else. A 10 hour battery span seems to be average. WP7 user interface is intended for sight and hearing impaired. Icons taking up nearly half the screen, ridiculous . Though, speed is one of its main aspects, there is nothing much to brag about out there. I have to admit, Nokia's charging speed and extended battery life is amazing. Their hardware and reliability is almost flawless. However at some point everyone enjoys a little customization. I am currently using android, apart from the slight lag at some points and its poor battery life, I love it. I'm almost sure that the next update will be massive. Its a shame that such a popular and when known company such as Nokia has been quiet for so long. Two identical phones with different operating systems? Disappointing.
3 nokias with windows will be launched this year and a symbian with 16 megapixels and fullhd video recording. i am working for orange, i saw the prototypes
I am really confused why GSM Arena, just copies over this nonsense from Eldar, the man paid by Samsung to spread BS about their biggest competitor.
The FACT is that Nokia will use WP Mango with limited customizations, because Mango was already well underway when MS & Nokia joined forces. Nokia WILL have Nokia specific software in the the first WP7 device, the screen it uses is better than the competition and it is using the newest MS spec chassis with some Nokia specific optimisations in it.
Eldar is full of it.
AnonD-112, 20 Jul 2011I really want to see how the WP7 Nokia phone will perform. If it is stable and has Free Naviga... moreI think, hope, that when Nokia/Microsoft release their first "Nokia" WP7-phone with free navigation, then Google probably also will release free voice-guided Navigation for Google Maps all over the world!
Two losers, Nokia and Microsoft WP7, does not make a winner but probably just an even bigger loser!
lets wait and see...
i dont think that nokia & microsoft are working on one set only.
i think Nokia will have a full range of sets & prices related to it lets wait & see
As a fan of both Microsoft and Nokia, here's hoping that the seasoned MBA's and other board members of two extremely powerful corporations know more about their own corporate strategies than some know-it-alls in a comment thread.
What about those first concept Nokia WP7 phones that were shown on many sites when the joint venture was announced. The design was superb.
blob, 19 Jul 2011i would recommend Nokia fans to declare black day on the day Nokia releases its WP7 N9. I second that. I think from the fans point of view Nokia+Microsoft is the worst move ever.
lol officialy insuficient!
