They do everything except assemble and test their devices.
The assembly and testing is outsourced, as it usually is with every company. But HMD still dictate the level of quality control they want, and what should pass or fail the QC.

All these companies are from Asian countries that do the hardware, material and then but the device together are the workers that get the minimum wage. So basically Nokia/HMD is not any different then any other Asian countries noname brand who use the workers who get minimum wage in these companies.
While Nokia/HMD is making only software for the hardware and have nothing other to do with the manufacturer of there devices. They just choose the material and components and thats about it.

Long-term software support isn't cheap, and HMD seem to spend a little extra to make sure all their devices have a sturdy build quality. It's worth the tiny extra in cost (hint: it's not 30-40 % extra).

People who have no money should not look for Nokia as Nokia will ask 30-40% of there phone price for brand name.
This Nokia 1 will be priced 30-40 euro more then it should be and there are noname brands out there that are priced at 50 euro and have 2GB ram 16GB rom and SD210 cpu in them or some MTK cpu
People who buy so budget phones dont care to have the best camera out there or anything in the best quality. And we dont live in a era when everything was made to last forever. That was last century before electricity technology.
LeEco some China brand that have 130 euro phones with SD652 in them or 150 euro phones with SD820 in them.
People are just to blinded by brand names but every year comes out new brands that give devices away for low amount of cash and better hardware.
Looking forward to Nokia 0.5 as a backup phone with 512MB RAM, 4 GB phone memory having 4 inch display with Android GO for 40-50 $.
Metal frame on such a cheap device? Nice, usually most companies go for all-plastic.
I think the 2 is low enough. No real need for 1. Waste of resources.
ZloiYuri, 09 Jan 2018Again that expensive crap. Chinese hmd global just cannot do anything but garbage. For crazy price.Ah, again that trollers crap
ZloiYuri, 09 Jan 2018Again that expensive crap. Chinese hmd global just cannot do anything but garbage. For crazy price.First of all HMD Global is a FINNISH company. A little research won't hurt son.
AdamBoy64, 09 Jan 2018Looks pretty nice, I'd like to give Android Go a try.Does sound interesting Android GO? be good without installing apps! ..Why can't they do that now on all phones though? We wouldn't need such high specs.

For crazy price. With this phone actual owners might be able to chat about their experiences instead of rich elitist using these comments pages as a way of ridiculing an opposing brands like it's some type of football rivalry..... But hey, I am a sceptic, so.... Nahhh....that'll never happen......
Might as well be another dumbphone. Especially the second picture makes the phone look like being the size of a Nokia 212 or some sort of.
